Someone tried to scam me on olx.

Lol. So, I posted the ad again. As expected another chuth immediately pinged asking for number. Now, I went back and added this in the ad:

Will not accept any QR codes, transaction from your side has to be cash only.

Bam, no response from him. This happened yesterday. When I checked the chat again today, the user account was blocked due to fraudulent activity.

I had a similar experience. When I posted an ad, I wrote "payment only in cash or face to face, scammers stay away". Never got any calls or messages from any scammer.

They know to avoid people who are aware of the scam. Sadly most people aren't.

Everyone has their own method to be scammer-proof I guess, as written above. In my case, I always insist on meeting in person at my place and then insist on a GPay, Paytm or PhonePe transaction of the agreed sum.
