Sony Alarm Clock ICF-C218

@prasanna - Sony Centre is not run by Sony Co. directly. Its through other agencies. So, I think they should give good discounts on bulk purchase. In Karaikal, since the tax is very low I think you should get a better discount.

Sony Centre as well as Sony World is not present in Karaikal. It is only in Puducherry. Will check for the Sony Centre in Puducherry and inform here as soon as I can.

@prasanna.... i read some bad review about the sony clock.... jus google it... afterall we all dont want a piece of junk eh

Me too don't want any junk! If more people are interested in getting philips, we can change the IC. What are you saying? :D

I agree - the Philips feature set is very nice. For eg: it has a provision to play music from MP3 players. Thats to help you sleep to your own music.

I'd get it for my Dad.

My Dad bought these Sony Dream Machines and for some reason, they would never keep time.

He got another 3 pieces from Dubai and believe it or not, all 3 had the same timing problem. He tried getting it serviced, but no use. A very strange problem. I still have that piece with me. The Radio works great - but timekeeping sucks bad.

Even I am interested in a one...

But need to be more careful about batteries... or if its Power operated..

I don't think any of these run on Pencil Cells..?

Might be the AC cycle problem mentioned in the other thread.

Bad news Guys. I checked with the Philips Store and they replied that the product is not available in India. When I told them that I saw on eBay, they said me to visit Philips India website and if the product is available there, they will surely order it. But it is not there :(

Regarding the Sony AC Cycle problem, I called and asked the Sony World Rep and he assured me that if any such problem arises, then he will replace it..

Now you people decide about this or shall we close this thread for the 2nd time? :)

well i had two philips radio/clock which is a old model bought in 1996 ,it had feather touch controls,it also had a 9v battery in.but the clock controls went kaput in about 2 years of the purchase.
in another one the radio doesn't work that well and the LED display doesn't show all the segments.
hope the new philips are good.

no idea how good the sonys are,but in most hollywood movies i have seen when the actor/actress wake up to switch off the alarm, its a sony clock/radio.

No wonder they come late to shootings

Anyway - these Sony's have a definite problem. And I guess with no solution.
