Sony Alarm Clock ICF-C218

btw are u guys saying about the time issues of sony, well i guess that because of US model operates at 120v but 60hz and in india we have a voltage of 230v but 50hz.so the india version won't suffer from that.

Thanks for the eye opening.. :D
So, what's up Guys? Shall we go for this Sony or shall we wait for the Philips Quote? (Need atleast 10 orders beforehand for the GO, then only we can get the price.) :(

There should not be any power related issues with the clocks whether it is USA or India specific model. These clocks don't use the mains frequency as clock source. Because in that in case of the power failure there would not be any clock source (mains is off) and the clock would simply stop working. In these days of sophisticated electronics - a clock can be designed with a microcontroller or a dedicated clock chip (most manufacturers use this) which use an external crystal oscillator (cheap and very accurate/stable) as clock source.

What would the Philips cost if only for 3 people?

They won't give :(
They're asking me to buy atleast 10 pieces.
Since the product is not a fast moving one, they don't want it to have it in their showroom showcase. :(

You have to go Sony, if you need only 3 pieces, which is not interested by 99% of people.

SONY eh - I have 3 of them already. Would like to try Philips. :S
