up for sale is my 2 year old Sony Ericsson w580i Black. Its been very spaerly used since last one year. Because Earlier i got an n85 and now Omnia HD with which i'm more than just happy. :hap2:
So no use of keeping this phone. Here goes the details.
Condition: is Ok. will rate 6.5/10.
- Scratch guard has been there from Day 1.
- No scratches on the body at all. Just a manufacturing defect/scratch in front where 'Sony Ericsson' is written. The body is scratch resistant. Even rough use cant get you scratches on the phone.
- Almost all Keys are broken, which are not, will break in future. but they in any form wont affect the performance of the phone while using or texting. Have done more than 21k+ msgs using them only. You also cant notice them easily, when the phone light is lit. Mostly all the w580i manufactured had this broken key problems. Got used to it.
- Normal wear scratches on the battery (930mAh), because of the back cover.
Sound: its just awsome even today. will rate 10/10.Music via louspeakers as well as earphones sound clear and loud. The only drawback is lacking of 3.5mm jackl. But there are converters available these days. Gmano has a thread going for such connectors.
FM reception is better than good.
Display: Believe me, this phone has one of the best displays i've seen on a TFT mobile screen. Though it has started giving me some problems. It starts fluctuating continously sometimes. When showed to a technician, he concluded that there is some problem with the 'patta' of the phone. Replacing it would cost around Rs400. I dont have time otherwise i myself have done that.
Camera: The image quality from the built-in 2mp camera is decent even today also. Can post some self-shot images if anybody wants to see.No scratches on the lens. you cannot expect more in day-light condition from a phone camera. There's no flash, so night pics are just OK.
Voice Clearity: Voice clearity is ok. Voice via speakers is very good. and via built-in earphones it is just ok. 7/10.
Battery Backup: Standby time is good. The phone lasts around one day with 2-3 hours of calling. 2-3 hours of music. and normal photography, games, etc.
Warranty and other details: Billing Date: 27th Sept 2007
Orig. Price : Rs.12,700/-
No warrantly left, as its been two years since i bought this.
Accesories:
-No Orig. Bill, Box, Manuals (I have them in my house only, but have to spare some time and pursuit a search hunt to find them in case anyone want them.
-No earphones. I only have that microphone-cum-connector part with me.
-2 chargers. one is the original one and the other is chinese.
-Original M2 1GB card which came with the phone.
Price expected:
Rs 3000/- local pickup preferred, as i want the buyer to see the phone in hand and to pay the amount in hand to avoid further hassles. (have learnt a good lesson after following Arup ji's 'khatarnak wale' experiences. i do not have time to either write or read long essays; lol. kidding. :bleh
Rs 3100/- if someone wants me to ship the phone over his responsibilty and risks.

Overall a good phone for those who want a phone for music purpose, or want a phone to use as a secondary one.
