Sony Ericsson has silently launched its smallest Android handset, the Xperia X10 Mini in India.

The phone, which also happens to be one of the smallest Android phone (if not the smallest) available now, features a 2.6 inch QVGA touchscreen, a 600Mhz processor, 128MB of internal memory - expandable to 32GB using microSD cards, Wi-Fi and GPS. It has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash at the rear and features Bluetooth as well as USB connectivity.

Conclusion:

You may have felt it already that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini left us with some very positive impressions - it is snappy, functional and cute as a clumsy puppy. As the creator of the minimalistic Android handsets market niche, its maker can only be praised about execution. The company has shown how Google's mobile OS can be painted over for a smooth and flawless user experience even on a small canvas.

We really like the UX interface on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini for its simplicity and smooth flow. Even if we distanced ourselves from Timescape and Mediascape (not available on the X10 mini), the deeply coherent interface on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the X10 mini feels much like a brand new OS, not even a shell over the Android kernel.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini is a tiny everyday hero which offers a great improvement over the stock Android user experience, probably on par with what the iPhone can give you out of the box - this would have been a blasphemy just a few months ago.

There aren't much, if any, smartphone alternatives to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini currently on the market, although there are some diminutive featurephones. Thus you are all set to be unique and colorful as a proud owner of this puppy gadget and when its keyboarded version, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro, arrives in a month, it will be a welcome addition to the ever expanding X10 line.

but still the display is extremely small .wen they say its a mini.then they shudve reduced the screen size from 4' to maybe 3.2' lik n97 mini.apart from that everything's gr8 including the price

screen size isn't the most important thing on the phone, as long as u can get all your tasks done (which is more than enough for most). Besides check the price point - 14.5k with a MP cam, android and capacitive screen, though clunky it looks "cute" and better than the spartan looks of the Spica.

After watching a couple of videos, I find this phone really snappy and responsive. I might just end up buyin git :D

Still waiting for X10 mini PRO...

This one does not have a removable battery but PRO version has a removable battery

Few things that are holding me back from buying this cutie are

1)Android 1.6....can it be updated to 2.1 or 2.2!!!

2)Waiting for PRO

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and search for the phone you want. This partucular one has a fluid UI, as good as it gets.

1)Yes..

Sony ericsson is releasing an update to 2.1 by year end to all Android phones...

So these two will be getting it..

2)Me too ...

Waiting for it.

Hope price is below 14K.

Here Is The Recent Limitation That I Found With Android. (Basic Feature)

1) Bluetooth Problems (Cannot Send Multiple Files Back To Back) Bluetooth File Sending Is Limited To*. Mp3 & Pictures.

Cannot Send *.Zip, *.Jar, ect.

hmm, after reading about the phone I think I will give it a skip and continue my hunt for a good 15k smart phone. This phone I fear is for females, it looks cure ...responsive and should be perfect for most females with their small fingers.

The screen is a bit too small for my liking! 3.2 inches on this one and it would be a decent budget smartphone!

.jar and .jad files cannot be sent thro bluetooth on symbian too
Never faced that issue on my Nokia. All files I have attempted to transfer till date, have gone fine.

Since it's Sony, with that screen, the price would have been a lot higher as well. However you might yet get such a phone, if recent leaks are accurate.
