There was an article at Gamespot which stated that Sony was finding it difficult to attract 3rd party developers.

Sony struggling to attract third-party support for Vita - Report - GameSpot.com

Not to mention the lackluster outing the Vita had at E3 2012. Sony did state that they didn't display more content to save time. Seriously is that how one promotes their new product?

PSP died an orphan's death. Sony was too focussed on the PS3. PSP rarely got good games. Most of the games it got were ports of their console counter parts.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY was not a smashing success.

I really hope that they make up their minds and focus on the Vita and work towards making it cheaper and more accessible rather than throwing fists in all directions.
