PC Peripherals Suck Or Blow

there is 1 rear exhaust fan . now if you look at most cabinets , there is a side fan . now the processor has a fan which is again an exhaust fan . so you would need a exhaust fan on top of the cpu again and not intake . An intake fan is best in places like on the front , or on the top.

someone correct me if i am wrong .

err... my CPU fan sucks... :P (air) SMPS's Blow.. no top fan or front fan.. just the rear fan... Shud it blow the air in or Out ?

The CPU fan sucks air towards the CPU. Thus, any fan on the side panel should blow air inside. The fan at the rear of the cabinet should blow air out of the cabinet and act as an exhaust. An intake fan must be mounted on the front panel of the cabinet to suck air into the cabinet.

If I am not wrong, this is generally the standard method.

Yes Accepted, this is the General Rule,I do it this way too!

Well, if there are more Suck fans than Blow fans, then the air pressure in the system is positive. Vice versa, if more Blow fans than Suck fans the air pressure is negative. Negative Pressure is the most efficient in cooling the overall system. More dust gets into the Cabby from small crevices and holes, but the cool air is distributed everywhere. Whereas in positive pressure, dust enters from the Suck fans only and hence possible to reduce dust in system by installing fan filters ;)

Yupp dats right.....and exhaust fans should b on the top ends of the cabinet......like rear top(standard)....top of the cabinet.....coz heat always rises. Intake fans are usually on the front or on the sides.

Always try n keep the intake:exhaust ratio more even......like 1:1..2:1..3:2...in dat order.

CHEERS.

Sorry, my mistake.

It should be:

Whereas in positive pressure, dust enters from the Suck fans only and hence possible to reduce dust in system by installing fan filters.
Damn, where's the edit post button? :@
