5k.

Thanks for reply Ananth,

Is any Altec Lancing, Creative or Logitech Speakers have inbuilt FM?

EDIT : Just in Another Thread you suggest 2.1 Speakers for Better Music. Is there any 2.1 speakers with FM Tuner.

No none of those have FM.

^^Why don't you buy a separate FM tuner :S. It won't even cost 200 bucks. There are no decent sounding 5.1 speakers with a tuner.

OK,

Sorry for dumb question but How can I use 1 set of Speakers for Both DVD and FM? without changing wire each time?

Is there any setting in Speakers that I can connect FM and DVD player both at same time so without any hassle?

I think you understand what I want to say:huh:

there are no 2.1 speakers with FM...only the Philips ones, but the 2.1 Philips are not so good.
in fact, even in 5.1 i THINK only Philips has FM,and the set i mentioned above is a pretty good one for the price.

Hey Kumar,

Excellent Idea, if any Graphics or Pictures available for same adjustment, can you please show me same or direct me there.

Now I narrow my search and query. Please reply if you have any idea about it.
My Hall where I kept TV, DVD Player is 200 Sq. FT, on Busy street.

I choose 2 speakers

1) Altec Lansing ATP3 (Specification you all Masters know it very well :) ) Rs.2660/-

Query: Can I use 2.1 ch Speakers with my 5.1ch DVD Player?

2) Artis S5500R (Inbuilt FM),
Output:2400W
Woofer 5.25" inch, 3" x 5 satellite
Inputs 5.1 Channel / Stereo.
Rs.3000/-

Now can any one please suggest me for which speakers I should go?

Thanks.

something like this:

Here i connected my ATP3 and Sony MDR-XD100 to my Soundblaster 24bit via a Y splitter so that i can use what ever whenever i wish without juggling bitween the cables.

You must do the exact opposite, use the two terminals as inputs for the sources and the single one for the input to the speakers.

Hey Kumar,

I am not going to Attach those speakers with PC but with DVD Player.

Are you sure I can attach Separate FM if I purchased any 2.1/5.1 ch. speakers?

If I buy 5.1 ch Speakers DVD player have 5 Female Points on Back side so How can I attach FM Receiver with it?

I am Confused, please help?

if u purchase an external FM tuner, make sure your DVD player/Speakers have an AUX or Line-in input.U can connect the tuner there with a 3.5mm male-male cable or a 3.5mm male-2 pin RCA cable.

Sorry for Dumb question,

But what is AUX or Line-in input. I have LG DS 9533 DVD Player. Do this model have same requirements.

If possible please show me Picture of AUX or Line-in input?

Is any of following Speakers have same AUX or Line-in input

1) Antec ATP 3

2) Antec 251i

the RCA Line-in is like this

U need the below cable to connect a FM reciever's headphone output to the above ports

sam-2rcam.jpg

OR if ur reciever/spkrs have a line in similar to a headphone out socket,u need a cable with 3.5mm male connectors on both sides

I dont know about the 251s but the ATP3 doesn't have a line-in.That said,u can use the Y splitter for a FM+DVD->Input to the speakers.

Sorry, but is this mean I can Connect FM+DVD to ATP3 using Y splitter:ashamed:

Hi Kumar,

Following is what I found on the rear side of LG DS 9533 DVD Player

1) Digital Out (COAXIAL)

2) Optical (Digital Out)

3) Audio Out : (Right) (Left)

4) S Video Out

5) Video Out

6) Progressive Scan : (Y) (Pb) (Pr)

7) Front : (Right) (Left)

8) Rear : (Right) (Left)

9) Center

10) Woofer

Now please tell me this One is OK if I put ATP3 with DVD + FM using Y Splitter?

Thanks for your great support till now, and thats why I like TE the day I land here as every one ready to help.

1) Digital Out (COAXIAL)
2) Optical (Digital Out)

Theese are both audio outs used in high end speakers (not in ATP3s)

3) Audio Out : (Right) (Left)
7) Front : (Right) (Left)
8) Rear : (Right) (Left)
9) Center
10) Woofer

Theese are the regular 5.1 outputs.Generally you have [Front Left+right],[rear left+right] and [centre+subwoofer] outputs.

4) S Video Out
5) Video Out
6) Progressive Scan : (Y) (Pb) (Pr)

theese are the video outs

The final hook up will be something like this
