Suggest 5.1 Ch. Speakers with FM budget 4/5k

Chaos,

I hear that Altec 251i have a function by Which you can Switch it to 2.1ch and 5.1ch when requires.

Is it mean 251i will it give me good performance (like ATP3) if I switch it to 2.1ch for FM and MP3 and if I switch it to 5.1ch it will give me Superb sound effect for Movies.?

Another Question,

My DVD Player is LG9533 CPM and the one of our member suggest was named as LG9533 DVD, is both have same Mediatek Chip? What is difference between both of them?

About speaker... get ur priorities right... Do you want audio quality or do you want 5.1? If its the former get ATP3. If its the latter get 251. ATP3 is better than 251 in stereo sound reproduction... by a large amount. About DVD I have no clue.

There is a button to switch in the back of the subwoofer. If the speakers are connected in 5.1 mode and you set the button to 2.1 then it will just force 2.1 audio.

Anyway you dont need to switch. When playing MP3's the sound will come from 2 speakers only as MP3's are only stereo sound.
