TBH did not pay much attention to it. Also, didn't use hot water or multiple cycles. I'm probably gonna try it one more time on Wednesday or Thursday if I have the time. This time i'll use hotter water and run it much longer.. Running empty cycles seems like such a waste of water sadly..

Fabric conditioner is a kind of wax which once deposited is harder to remove with room temperature water. So hot water is the only way to go at it.
It's not an empty cycle if there is product in it with a specific purpose. Hard water deposits will decrease the cleaning efficiency of the detergent. On a front loader they will lead to a spider failure this isn't as much of a problem with a top loader.
One thing is clear a top loader with a heater would make this easier.
It would also improve cleaning during the colder months when water out of the tap is much lower than 40

Been doing some machine cleaning experiments and this is what i've found so far.
Ideally the machine should smell clean (no smell) when its wet. Just like when you bought it. If it has a foul smell, a mildew smell or even a soap smell then you have buildup of some sort.
I don't have hard water, but what i notice is i have detergent residue. This happens after a year. I'm surprised this happened since i don't use full scoops (60 gm) for a full load but usually 20 -30 gms. There was a slight soapy smell as well.
The way to test for detergent residue is to just run a rinse & spin without the spin cycle. If towards the end you see the water soapy and the foam does not disperse then it means you have detergent buildup. I think its best to get rid of this detergent as it raises the pH of the water during the wash. A higher pH isn't good for the spider. Usually we see the spider crumbling and that is because its been in high pH for a long time. Or a machine that had detergent buildup and overdosing of detergent for the entire life of the machine.
What you use and its dosage depends on the amount of water used. With a 55 litre drum, the wash cycle uses about 3 litres of water. The rinse cycle uses 15 litres of water. With a 36 litre drum i expect the water consumed will be proportionately lower. Korean machines with a depth of 44 cm are 36 litres, ones with a depth of 55 cm are 55 litres. Same with samsung. Bosch has been making narrow models of late to compete so smaller ones will be similar to the Koreans. The regular Bosch washers have close to 50 litre drums or still more with bigger size models.
I started off with Fortune to remove the detergent. The box says it does this among other things like descaling. The sachet is 100 gm. Ran it on the tub clean cycle. Tub clean is a std feature on LG machines. This cycle uses as much water as the regular rinse cycle so 15 litres. Towards the end of the wash cycle that is the hot wash i noticed there was still a fair amount of suds left. Not impressed. Ran a rinse cycle with cold water after and noticed the foam again so I decided to try some thing else. As i noticed no difference. To be fair the product was six months past its expiry date when i did this wash. Still i don't think these chemicals expire.
Citric acid. Cheaper is available. This time i put in 200 gms into the detergent drawer. It was full to the brim. Ran the tub clean again. This time i notice a visible decrease in suds at the end of the wash cycle. Ran the rinse cycle after and this time there was not much foam left and it smelt cleaner.
This means for a 55 litre drum, the minimum weight of cleaning product to use is at least 200 gm to be effective. 100 gm is too less and maybe for the smaller machines. Bosch sells a cleaner that is 200 gms and they recommend using the whole lot in one go.
That is how you get rid of detergent buildup. Citirc acid will also remove hard water buildup.
For smells i found vinegar or Borax work well to remove them.
For Borax at least 200 gm straight into the drum on a tub clean cycle.
Vinegar given its less acidic than citric acid might need quarter to half a litre.
Keep in mind these will work if you stick to just powder detergent.
If you use liquid detergent and fabric conditioner then these products leave behind residues which the above solutions might not be enough to handle. Requiring something more specialised like the pricey Bosch cleaner.

Yes there is a significant difference, the model you linked has a really small drum, infact there is no difference between it and a old 5.5kg machine. The model I linked is a true 7kg drum.
If you want wifi then you need to for a 8kg model

What is your water pressure like ? how high is your overhead tank from where the machine will be installed

I see a lot of them with 19-25K in amazon and Flipkart - Need to know which one to buy.
Would be operated by my Mom and just 2-3 people in the family.
We have a helper to wash the daily clothes so Washing Machine maybe used once in 2-3 days

Let us know how service is like if any issues arise. This is the open question. If you live in a Tier 1 city i think you will be fine.
These 20k models do not offer choice of spin speed so everything will be spun at 800 rpm. Choice is no spin or max speed spin.
There is no way to display error codes. Just error light comes on and you have to guess what that error means. A showstopper for me in the design dept.
On the plus side that drum looks big enough and will serve you well. Definitely bigger than the Koreans.
