Actually the one that I have is L&C ... and +12V reading shows 18A :(
So how much would a decent PSU cost to be far safe ?

i think u are in troble buddy ..... get a better PSU or u will blow ur PSU/card

What 's your budget, u cud get the Antec NeoHE 500watt for 6.2k which is the best currently, else get a cheaper powersafe 500/600watt powersafe for 2.5-4.5k. There are some on sale here

Dunno how much more power the xtx requires but I believe vij is currently runnin his x1900xt on his powersafe 500watt.

I suggest that if you want to use a X1900XTX, get yourself a good PSU like the Antec Neo HE 500/550 or TP Trio 550. Though people are running it on cheaper alternatives, It would be in your best interests to get a good PSU for such a costly card. If you want a slightly cheaper alternative, a PowerSafe 500/600W or Zebby (Skyhawk) 640W would be your options. ATi Recommends 30A on the 12V rails for this card to run with a averagely loaded system.

your best bet for this card is NeoHE 500W or TP Trio 550W.

I cant get this 12V - 30A clear... I checked the Antec 500W and 550W they also have 18A max load ... Can u make me clear on this

Neo HE 500 can deliver 38A across 3 rails. So you have connect your stuff such that it spreads across all the rails so as not to overload any of the rails. remember, the 30A is not for the card alone, it includes the other stuff as well.

Neo HE 500watt has 3 rails of +12V i.e 18+18+18 = 54 Amps, even the powersafe have 2 rails of +12V

@thexfactor: you cannot add up rail amperage like that. The NeoHE 500 can deliver max 17A on each rail. all three rails combined, it can take a load of 456W i.e 38A. The NeoHE/TP 550 can give max 18A on each rail and combined 504W, i.e 42A. PowerSafe and Zebby cannot deliver that much. 640W zebby can give 25A on 12V rails that too at 25 deg temp (NeoHE ratings are tested at 50 deg temp) PowerSafe 600W is also similar to zebby.

If you want 30A on the 12V load, check out Vantec IonStorm, a 460W PSU which sells for around 3,700/-. They also have a higher capacity PSU but not sure what the specs are. This 460W is 30A for sure. single rail.

Vantec IonStorm 460W is supposed to be the best single rail PSU, but its 30A rating I think is its peak output and not continous. That too it would be at 25 or 30 deg temp.

i just bought Vantec Ion2 460 watts PSU, it has 30A single 12v rail and it has one 120mm thermally controlled fan.Its one of the best alternative to Antec

No Idea, But should be between 25A~30A considering that zebby 640W is rated at 25A (300W) on 12V rails at 25 deg temp.

Hope so. The 500W Powersafe I checked out was only 18A! So ended up buying a 400W with 20A on 12V.

Well I am kinda getting confused with too many options. Well I dont want to take any chances with the PSU. I want to know the easiest one to install and the one that will fit my case. Rite now I came to know something about PSUs from all of u guys. Thanks:D But to get one I wud prefer the best for a single card. Price is not an issue but i dont want to go too far spending for wat i dont need. My case has 2 fans as u can see from my RIG

Antec NeoHE 500 for 6~6.2k is the best trouble free investment for you. It should be able to deal with the GPU and also allow you to add another HDD or something else in future if required.

shud I be worried about the size to fit into my case with Antec NeoHE 500W ?

nope, its not a huge monster and should fit any ATX mid tower or even a mini tower case without problem. :) You also get the flexibility of using only the cables you require at the moment since its a modular PSU. Just connect what you want and the rest of the cables you can keep aside.

Just go through this review, it also has a lot of pics.

OK while I install my graphics card I must just connect one of those PCI-e 6-pin connectors to the card and dont bother abt anythin else rite .... Or is there something else
