Galvanizer
my current system is e8400 at stock with 2gb ddr2 ram.
i still play on with my good old 6600gt 128mb ddr3 graphic card and to my wonder it certainly plays all games well at 1024x768.

now i'm thinking for an upgrade on gfx card. As you see i dont upgrade on regular basis.

**I wont upgrade my card for another 3yrs after this.
So suggest accordingly graphic card for Rs.6000 ati or nvidia I have some ati's in mind but then should i opt for 9600gt or 9800gt so confused in the selection category as per performance.

frankly mate - I dont think a 6k card's gonna keep you satisfied for 3 yrs :ohyeah: but anyway I'd suggest you to go for a 9800gt or if you can get a 4850 under 6k bracket!

btw you got a pretty neat CPU there:hap2:

Get a GTS 250 or a 4850, whichever you find cheaper. 9800GT just wont cut it for 3 years. (But in your maybe it can, as you still game on 6600GT..........GOOD GOD). :)

buy 9800gt if its coming for less than 6k..

If u can wait , then wait for max 6 months for dx 11 cards to drop to sub 6-8k range. By this time ATI 5670,Ati 5650 will be released. They'll be better because they'll have dx11 which will be required if u plan to hold the card for 3 yrs.

Otherwise go for ATI 4850 - 6.3k

Mention ur psu before asking for a gfx dude

is gts250 better than 4850 or 4870??

GTS250 is marginally faster than the 4850 on the whole. But you will not make out any difference in terms of playability. Hence, get which ever is cheaper.
