RE2 and M2 are in different league,

M2 are most probably better than RE2 in all departments.( though i have only read about both , but still read a enough about both to comment)

and M2 are very easy to drive,

M2 have great build quality, compared to OKish build of RE2. RE2 are great at 1.3K that amarbir was offering, but at 2K not that great(as compared to 2.2 for M2)

^ Both are the best in their respective category. There's a difference off more than 500-600 bucks between the two considering the lowest price of M2. If you take M2 as 2.8k , the difference is more than 1k.

LoL , dont discourage people from buying RE2 , I have mine's still on sale :D

Jokes apart , price is a concern between RE2 and M2 , if budget is on lesser side , RE2is VFM buy , and if budget allows then M2 is anyday better .

+1 . They both really shouldn't be compared .If one can afford the M2 its a no brainer but even otherwise the RE-2 has one of the most beautiful vocals and accurate treble Ive ever heard in a sub 50$ IEMs .So its not that M2 are way way better than RE-2 in all departments .Infact the M2 has a very congested and narrow soundstage so this is one department the RE-2 easily outperforms the M2. They are a 1-2 tier above the RE-2 in overall sound.

Look at it this way , RE-2 or Brainwavz M1(if you can source it) is the best overall if your budget is strictly under 2k. Between 2k and 4k ,M2s are the best you can get and even then the M2 is capable of coming close to some of the 4-5k IEMs as well .

@abhinav: lol, no I consider Head-direct to provide great value with their Products( some would say Only IEms).
but as it is, the M2 offers better value .

I can never say RE2 are bad, its just that compared to M2's price their great VFM, gets toned down a bit form great to good.
(well i did say they are not that great but that was compared to M2. Sorry for the misunderstanding)

Now that's what i call , PURE CONCLUSION :)

Good work Faheem , your capability to brief things at this age is BRILLIANT !!

Don't want to open another thread.

After seeing my thread my brother wants a IEM too.

He listens to rock, pop, and bollywood and other indian music (not any bass heavy music).

He doesn't like my PL-11 (which i intended to gift him) - stating that he doesn't want too much bass but a "clear", smooth and wide sounding IEM. He is a bit rough user - so build quality should be taken into consideration too.

I'll be gifting it to him and my budget is within 1.5K.

@ archat

According to the budget , strictly RE2 .

Considering your this line :-

stating that he doesn't want too much bass but a "clear", smooth and wide sounding IEM.

@ archat , RE-2 sounds perfect for your brother. It's build quality is not the best and warranty is only 90 days so you will have to take care about that.

archat, why dont you look at Soundmagic PL30, it is clear, smooth and wide, imho. Also the Fischer Audio ts9002, its supposed to have good build quality.

But what about Eterna/SB?

I was also considering the RE2 - but the build quality worries me. Also the new one is out of my budget and I don't want to gift a used item :( .

I was thinking of M1 /PL30. But the M1 is not available locally.

So, how does PL-30 sounds?

I will get the M2 for myself  . Amarbir doesn't have any stock right now.

My only hope is now Fah33m - if he sells his M2 after getting the M3 :D .

I'm looking a second one with similar SQ but with a lesser price (1.5K max) for my brother.

LOl, faheem will never sell his M2, i thing he got them as a sample.

also i dont think M3 is an upgrade over the M2,they are different IEMs, bass is better but M2 are overall more balanced (this i have read)

I'm a bit worried about ordering from MP4Nation as I have pretty bad experiences with HK post.

So what's the suggestion for the one with 1.5K budget?

in my experience, with HKpost the item reached india on the same day!!! then suffered 15 days lockup in the hands of indian customs . then returned back to HK due to some f*ck up in the indian post. you should be wary of the indian post , not HK because once i comes to india its in the hands of indian post.!

PL30 sounds quite decent. Non claustrophobic soundstage, smooth almost balanced sound, good detail level. Definitely VFM at the price.

The M1 sounds like a good deal esp for 30$ its retailing for now. But according to joker on Head fi, they are not very easy to drive, so not too good with low powered sources, eg sansa clip.

Now the Fischer audio ts9002 also has good review, but they are not yet popular here.

Re2 is now back to its 1800rs price. Since you dont want used, you cant opt for the one anubhav is selling.

So did you get your shipment or a refund eventually?
