Even though I am a fan of action and drama movies. I loved this movie called 'My Girl' which i saw on World Movies. The language is Thai or Filipino, I dont know. It was with subtitles. The movie is so cute (yeah, I m being a sissy here), it really made me remind my childhood and the sweet memories.

There was a very good old Chinese movie i saw on DD way long back called 'Why was I born'. I remember it was the first movie that me cry.

^-- Sorry bud, but del Toro has backed off the Hobbit project. The entire project in fact is stuck in limbo.

Damn, I've watched a bunch of foreign (read: non english) films and I still managed to add ad few to my movie queue. Thanks TE

Anyway, here are a few slightly obscure movies I liked

Kontroll (No real Genre|Hungarian) - It's a movie set entirely in the undeground metro system. It follows the story of a ticket inspector (I think his name was Bulscu) who is caught in the middle of suicides, a strange woman in an animal costume and abusive ticketless travellers.

La Haine (Drama|French) - A film that shows you what a day is like for the marginalised Parisian ghetto minorities. Through the medium of three friends, an Arab, an African and a Jew, the film explores various aspects of poverty, racism and violence.

Pusher (Crime|Danish) - A small time drug dealer's life spirals downwards. The more he tries to fix things, the worse they get. This movie is very raw and doesn't sugar coat any aspect of the worlds it is showing. Despite this, it manages to make you dislike and emphatize with the main character at the same time.

Suspiria (Horror|Italian) - A horror movie set in a ballerina outfit. It's one of those rare movies that manage to mix horror with beuatiful cinematography and art design. Every frame of this film is richly coloured. It's also avilable in English

Yeah the whole Hobbit project now is hanging up without a hope primarily caused by lack of funds at the MGM studios. Hope the financial companies realizes its one of those projects that could rake in Billions just like the Peter Jacksons movie did and Guillermo is a brilliant choice for them considering the art of story telling and visual brilliance that this guys movie possess.. Yeah I forgot that Hungarian and Italian movie but there are much more, this list on this thread is in no way a comprehensive one.

Man you should post up a Caution note for Three Extremes as well.

And the goriest movie (that I've seen) in my view should be one of these: Rambo 4, Braindead, Cannibal Holocaust or Haute Tension
