Tried Warcraft III after reading this thread, didn't like it. To each his own.

Well, you need to give wc3 some time before actually dumping it.... maybe play the single player campaign.... the MP mode is truly rewarding once you have a few good opponents (And have some experience).

Oh! Warcraft 3 needs to be given a lot more time! Take my case for example. I tried it on some two to three occasions with a gap of almost six months to a year or so each since 2001. Each time, I either got bugged or bored of it and I would end up uninstalling the game.

It's got a steep learning curve - at least to be decent at it. It's a game where you have to just ignore the "Oh this is just another boring game". Stick to it even if you don't like it at first, play with other players, watch a few replays maybe and give it two weeks or so. If you are a RTS-RPG person, love multiplayer games, then I assure you - you are never letting go of it!

Whatever you do, don't drift off to DOTA ;P

I miss our nightly WC3 sessions .
Stupid pos DotA killed everything.
