Instead of diploma in comps you could opt for the new course the University of Mumbai has introduced in Cyber Law.
The future prospects of the same are great.
cyber law......well i guess doin that + gettin certification frm a good reputeted institute lik e2labs.....or doin cisco certification will b much better......
btw xt....do u have any idea abt cyber law update done afte 2001......???
i too may b thinking to do the course...may b certifications......
also does mcse comes under it????
note:::quady......if somone is goin for diploma..i would strictly say tell the person not to do that unless he gets in colleges lik vjti or sardar patel reputation...........my diploma classmates....had a tough luk gettin placements.........since maths was optional for them........most were shown the door..without checking their marks....since they told maths was optional(integtration ,derivative stuffs)

Nope, i have no idea about the ammendments to the course.
And yes, whatever diploma you do, it should be from a good college. Again, this totally depends upon who is doing the same and for what purpose.

Thadomal dont have diploma.
Many people choose diploma to avoid boaring 11th and 12th subjects and to avoid tough admission process through 12th. and not entrance too is needed.
If you get 70+% in diploma final year you are almost guaranteed direct 2nd year admission in decent degree college.
Its not bad option at all for those who 100% wana go for engineering.
My cousine did the same and got into very good college for degree (D.J.Sanghvi which is known to close at very high % after 12th).
He got into D.J with 76% but even his friend with 21% got into the same college. And its really not difficult to get more than 70% in Diploma.
Thats the advantage of diploma
As far as colleges goes there is SVP, Thakur, Bhagubai in suburbs.

Funky's other cousine from Pune also went through diploma. He got accepted in Patni through campus recruitment and now he is working for wipro.
Afaik even Funky has got offers from philips and siemens.
If your diploma and degree record is good then thats what matters. Its that whole diploma students being weak in maths is the only issue for them as they dont have engg 1st year equivalent maths in their diploma program and they really struggle for 3rd and 4th sem maths due to 1 year layoff from maths and also lack of knowledge of mathmatics they are tought in sem 1 and 2. and thats where max diploma students fail in engineering and that creats bad impression on resume
If student works on this then companies are only looking for skilled people and they prefer students with minimum or no failures in the degree course.

Guys regarding campus placements for students who did there 12th or diploma and after that are doing engg in our college SPCE have the same preference i have seen no preference more for 12 based or dip based.
All are treated equally its how well u score in there aptitude tests and how
well u give the interview there infact even student scoring 70% or 60% both
are at the equal level only the test and interview matters.

Its one of the top profession / career oriented diploma colleges in mumbai and one of the oldest one. Its opposite to the Ayurvaidic college in parle near cooper and the same complex where now D.J. Sanghvi exsists.
Its S.V.K.M management college, the same management that controls N.M, mithibai, D.J and NMIMS.
Vartak another very old and reputed colleges when it comes to both degree and diploma but lacks the infrastructure that can be seen in some colleges as common thing these days ( atleast that was the case till one and half year back ).
