Guys,

A friend of mine is going to Singapore on a trip for 8days.

He is asking what are the places that should be on his must go list. Recommendations?

It depends on what he is interested in. Food, drinks or just visiting places. Singapore has become quite expensive. So ask him to be prepared for a rip off.

Universal Studios

Malls like VivoCity, nex. Quite a lot of malls there.

Marina Bay sands

Esplanade

Songs of the Sea. Laser and water show in sentosa. Kids might like it.

There are some more attractions in sentosa. Ash him to get a map and choose what he likes.

Bird park and Zoo.

Clarke Quay for pubs (Quite expensive)

Reverse bungee jumping in Clarke Quay.

Pagoda street in China town for souvenir shopping

Mustafa in Little India

Funan Mall for Tech related stuff. But its quite expensive.

Some food and drinks

Annalakshmi on weekends for their buffet. Make sure you make a reservation

Chilli Crabs in any East Coast Park sea food joints. I had it in Jumbo and no signboard seafood.

Singapore Sling In Long bar. (I didnt like it. Expensive at S$30)

Kaya Toast for breakfast in YaKun Kaya and Killeney Kopitiam

Chicken Rice in Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, Maxwell food court. Lime juice is amazing opposite this shop. Do ask him to have one.

Paulaner Bräuhaus at raffles Point. They brew beer there. Was good

Portobello Mushroom Burger at Carls Jr. Beats McD and BK by miles.

I think swordfish pretty much covered it all!

Am yet to check out Carl Jr.. thanks for the heads-up!!

Thanks, thats a long list.

He is just interested in visiting places.. sightseeing.
I will just summarise that a bit and meet your requirements :D In the order:

(1) Opt for one of those guided half day city tours. You would cover most of the city peacefully
(2) Sentosa Islands. Do whatever you feel like there based on the options available. Set aside a full day here.
Must watch here IMO - Songs of the sea (evening shows, be early, 1 hr total), Dolphin Lagoo (20 mins), Underwater world (15 mins).
(3) Little India / China town - though I didn't feel there is a lot of sight seeing here, mostly shopping.

If your friend to wants get electronic goods for cheap(cheaper than mustafa or sim lim),there is a shop called 'Niranjan' close to mustafa mall. It's pretty famous and trustworthy. Its run by a Punjabi, just ask for 'singh shop' near mustafa and u will be directed there
And as already said 'Song of Seas' is not to be missed,
Also,if there are more than 3 people travelling it will be cheaper to travel by taxi than a bus.
