any news yet about the AM2 ?? .. gr8 news that conroe has been scheduled to launch no in june rather than july :D
 
PRICING IS OK OF AM2 except fr fx 62 n 5000+ but performance gain is minimal over s 939 proccy, mainly they r more efficient, so higher oc ability i hope:hap2:

Great news...Wht about Merom will it be launch along with conroe.

Merom is for laptops and would need ridiculously expensive core duo boards like that AOpen 975X mobo :P

I know that buddy. I just asked it becoz me going to buy a notebook in late June or early July. So if it is released with the Conroe, then i think i may get a Merom Powered notebook. But i have heard Merom is going to be launched in Aug. Also i have seen not much diff in Merom and Current Generation Yonah (Core Duo) CPUs.

1 BIG Difference SCZ..

Core Duo (Yonah) = 32bit, i.e. No 64bit support..

Core 2 Duo (Upcoming Merom/Conroe) = 64bit supporting :bleh:

as mentioned above a 7900GT is easily available for 20K, and even 2-3K less ;) if u know the right folk :P
the 7800GT should be 15K new, and maybe 12K~12.5K if up to 3-4 months old...not more repeat NOT MORE..
I recommend a 7800GT for normal gaming now say for 1 year down the line, for a more extreme gaming experience u should get a 7900GT atleast or an X1800XT
 
@vandal - stop talking bs, a 7800gt always cost more or similar to the 7900gt in usa & in india & rest of the world. so if you are getting a new 1 in india for 15 kindly do contact me. also if u get a 2nd hand for 12k do contact me.

get your facts right before posting crap.
