The Zebby for 5.5k is a waste of money. Don't go by wattage only, sometimes a sneak peak into the PSU's components helps...;)

The same PSU is selling for $50 abroad (people consider it to be like a Powersafe) and for some $100 here. Overpriced "low-end" stuff..

EDIT : @ hunter - The Vantec Ion2 is 3.7k in mumbai :)

anish just cause the psu is selling for 50$ abroad doesnt mean its bad.

its better to go by personal reviews of people that you know like funky & switch.

& yes rahul if you read what i said before i did say that the tp is cheaper than tc & that he will save money.

Anish, Skyhawk 620 was selling for 80-90 US$ on newegg and mwave.

Now its not in stock there. The 520 costs $70 now. Its not $50 piece of crap.

In the end performance speaks, and there are more happy owners of this PSU than NeoHE ;)

Gives better rail results than more expensive PSUs. And never put the US pricing in perspective of India, it never works.

TP2 550 is under $90 in usa, that makes it most overpriced PSU in india.

Yea Right says who... Show me a post/thread/comment of a person who is using this PSU and is complaining... That would be enough...

3.3v=24A
5v=30A
12v1=22A
12v2=22A
-12v= -0.5A

What does that have to do with the quality of the PSU... Ansih, If a product is not reviewed by a site then it doesnt mean its Bad... Looks like you are one of those kids who goes on brand names rather then the quality of the product...

Anyways reviewd or not the fact of the matter is that Zebby 540 and 640 are both being used on two opteron based systems here on TE which are quite a bit overclocked... If it can pass through that then even if GOD(I know i am being sarcastic) comes and says its bad i will have results for him to show and ask him to justify his statements... Good luck spending that 6k+ yours :thumb:... And from next time talk with facts :fatigue:...

P.S. I was browsing through the rig gallery and i saw one more member using a Zebby 640 on a Opteron DC system with 7800GT. Now only if he could post his results :)...

yea really, i got my opty 165,Dfi lanparty ut nf4 ultra-d and evga 7800gt.
A Really big big thanks to deejay for helping me out.
A very helpful person i have ever met.:hap2: :ohyeah:
Just stuck out for the stupid psu.

@ Switch - I'm not a kid who talks w/o facts. Reviews and only reviews can tell how good a products is. And don't talk about 2-3 PSU's talk about volumes, quality keeps changing with revisions (you know that) so we have to compare an average of many different versions and see...

I never said that the Zebby is a bad PSU, I was sure to buy one myself. Its just the pricing that put me off. GF created a thread and a lot of senior members aptly gave their opinion on the Zebby as an excellent overpriced PSU.

As for Antec, atleast they have a solid warranty backup, what the hell will you do if one fine day Zebronics changes their OEM to some crap and your PSU dies ??

how much did the opteron cost siddharth. i think the powersafe seems good. but cant comment cause no1 has yet used it.

& anish i dont know what you are talking about. there so many products that are not reviewed by many sites & dont have reviews on the net, that doesnt mean that it is bad. i always give more preference to a personal user review more than a site review.

But you also said...

Yep ! I meant that the Zebby is a great PSU at a price of 3.5k.

When you price a product at around 5.5k your competing with brands much better know, with proper support and backup.

Also as I meantioned atleast Antec have a decent OEM in Seasonic, what if Zebronics changes their OEM from Skyhawk ?

I agree quality depends on OEM (I'm not against Skyhawk) but it also depends on the retailer..:)

Hope you get my point..

Old products get phased out all the time.

EVen older antec psus are not outdated and discarded. When some of the old ones fail they either repir it, or give user and option of refund of estimated market price or give user replacement of similar estimated market price.

If tomorrow zeby changes oem and time comes to claim warranty similar case will be there.

I had talk with mnemonic regarding warranty policies of different partners the other day and the picture is sad be it any distri in india.

Zebronics is not gona run away out of here anyway, they have decent base set in india with plenty of products available.

Even this PSU is available in good quantities, easier to get than even TP2 or neoHe.

I have never been a brand fanboy and never will be. If product is good i will buy it. In the end what you get is that matters.And having seen TP2 in action and TP2 blowing and killing mobo and RAM in process now i dont feel overly secure about these expensive Antec PSUs.

heh, i mentioned that above.

Due to what happened yesterday, most of yesterday and today morning i have spent testing his hardware components in my pc to determine whats dead and whats not. Sheesh, waste of expensive AS5 :P

Anyway, i installed new hitachi drive in that system yesterday. Its AMD X2 3800+ A8N SLI Dlx system.

it wont start up. Removed new HDD, still no start up.

Removed everything except the gfx card and sound card and ofcource ram. Cleared CMOS, press start up, fan spins for few minutes and poof.

Burning smell, system shut down. After testing his all hardware in my system everything is ok except RAM and mobo is dead. CPU wont start either after trying to see if PSU works by shorting the wires.

So it seems PSU died and took took mobo and 1 of the ram sticks with it. the new HDD and rest of stuff is ok and working in my system.

There are black marks on the ATX connector. Today he took the mobo , ram and PSU to the dealer, lets see if they accept RMA.
