PC Peripherals Suggestions on new power supply.....

Due to what happened yesterday, most of yesterday and today morning i have spent testing his hardware components in my pc to determine whats dead and whats not. Sheesh, waste of expensive AS5 :P
Anyway, i installed new hitachi drive in that system yesterday. Its AMD X2 3800+ A8N SLI Dlx system.
it wont start up. Removed new HDD, still no start up.
Removed everything except the gfx card and sound card and ofcource ram. Cleared CMOS, press start up, fan spins for few minutes and poof.
Burning smell, system shut down. After testing his all hardware in my system everything is ok except RAM and mobo is dead. CPU wont start either after trying to see if PSU works by shorting the wires.
So it seems PSU died and took took mobo and 1 of the ram sticks with it. the new HDD and rest of stuff is ok and working in my system.
There are black marks on the ATX connector. Today he took the mobo , ram and PSU to the dealer, lets see if they accept RMA.

anything can be broke dude ..... that doesn't mean that they are make crap PSU's .... and not saying that zebby is not good ..... as far as i have seen reviews it seems perfect and stable PSU ..... but one broken antec PSU and u are start to saying that u won't believe in antec anymore its funny ...... and in ur case it seems really strange ...... very few these types of incidents happends ..... i can only say u had bad luck buddy ....
 
That is what i am really interested in... Show me somebody complaining about a Bad Skyhawk 540/640 PowerOne PSU...

dude even Rolls Royce can have problems ..... even tho they are created for perfection and u are asking about cheap skyhawk PSU .... one damaged piece doesn't mean that Antec PSU's are not good .....
 
Dude where did i say Antec is no good... All i said is Skyhawk is pretty good... Plz from next time on read carefully before commenting...

heh, we had discussion about this long time ago on te before i got the PSU.
That review was carried out a year ago with initial versions of their PSU. Skyhawk removed their dual rail claim and specifications after that from box and website and promised money back to whoever wants and updated hardware. Somewhere back in may they put back these specifications back online after rolling out newer batch of these PSUs. Sadly noone cared to review these PSUs again.
And rahul thats exactly what i meant. Why you guys doubt the capabilities of skyhawk, read the user reviews at DFI street. Its cheaper than any competing antec PSU out there even now in india. And its available. Giving me better rails than PSUs like Antec TP2 550. And you guys still call it cheap PSU. If you see its directly competing against TP2 in USA in same price range.
It havent flinched a bit with anything i have thrown at it, and mind you i have thrown plent at it.

i never doubt about quality of that PSU funky .... i always says that its a gr8 PSU and best bang for bucks :D .....

sorry ..... it was supposed to be for funky ..... i am just trying to tell ki with one broken PSU u can't decide anything about any company ...
