the stock ICE that comes with the Zxi sucks , and to remove that and put in a dashboard replacement kit + other ICE = too much bother

at least thats why I wouldnt buy an ZXi :p
 
^^LOL do you buy a car just for ICE? The ZXi has ABS and Airbags. Those are life savers.

Whats the point of ICE if one is dead :rofl:.

TechHead mate one more query... any idea if octroi is applicable in Navi Mumbai and if so is it the same?

you can see sucky stereo but can't see airbag and ABS, i guess ZXi is pretty good VFM when compared to VXi ..... and ABS is not something you can add later on :)

^^Are you absolutely sure? I'm contemplating shifting to Navi Mumbai. Was planning to get my car road taxes and crap reimbursed from my new employer :p. I need to give them the exact figure.

and not to mention the larger alloy wheels and some other goodies. :) IMO ZXi is really vfm compared to VXi.

alloys/abs/ebd/airbags/ body coloured mud flaps, mirrors/iCats for ICE?..lol

the onboard ICE aint that sucky.. with further enhancements its back to good!

im sticking to factory fitted at the moment.. no buxx for subs n all...
 
was just putting forward a plausible reason for buying the Vxi :ashamed:

some folks at team bhp ICE had actually listed the stock HU as one of the reasons why they didnt want a Zxi for the swift, and you can get the Vdi with ABS optional anyway.
 
Bah the stock HU can always be removed :p. Is that such a big problem? The Vdi doesn't come with airbags either and finding the ABS version is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Car is mostly for city driving.. don't see me needing an airbag and ABS for that. Besides, the fiance has a Civic, will mostly use that when we go out of town. Both of us are based completely in South Mumbai, work and residences as well, so it's all good.

No octroi in Navi Mumbai either.

Besides, can anyone suggest some good ICE upgrades to the car? Preferably non-warranty voiding, and within ~12k? Music only, do NOT want any DVD/VCD/LCD screen rubbish in the car.
 
Do you need all that usb blah blah or are you looking for pure sound quality?

If its the latter, get the Alpine 9870 and a pair of Illusion Electra components. If you need USB replace the HU with a Pioneer 5050 or whatever the model is.

if you dont need USB and lots of bass or a volume control knob , then + 1 to what chaos says. I have a Pioneer 9870 ( MRP 9k) , and the Illusions comps MRP is 6k.

I have Hertz Compos, but i dont think you can get them here any more

You should be able to get a deal on the combo :)
 
Why not Honda City CVT (A/T), the automatic transmission of honda city is one of the best available in the market as there are no gears in the transmission. They use some kind of pulley system and therefore no gears and no jhatkes or no switches when speeding.

I've been driving it since last 3 years, sold it after big accident.
