Tablets for Media consumption under ₹20,000.

Basically title, I have checked out the Samsung Tab A series and they look okay. I only intend to use the tablet for media consumption with 2-3 hours of usage per day.
I have no issues buying a used tablet, feel free to suggest if I should look for a used one instead of new.
The price is non negotiable.

Xiaomi Pad 6 is a big step up from anything cheaper, worth the extra 2-4k it might cost based on sale & CC offers (now ~24k).

Most cheaper tablets have a very weak SoC that will start lagging with time. Websites & apps become more resource intensive with time, that's how it is. Rest is upto you.

I have a Xiaomi Pad 6 as well and the Snapdragon 870 is still a decent SoC compared to the budget 2024 tablets launched by Xiaomi/Poco with the 256/8 GB combo working well for content consumption. Also has USB 3.0 video output which works well mirroring to TV.

Don't want to hijack this thread but if you end up opting for the Pad 6 used, I am inclined to sell it along with a folio case that acts like a stand. I also have the bootloader unlocked with CrDroid running on it which is quite stable as opposed to HyperOS, but can flash back to stock if it is a preference.

Might post a separate sell thread on it when I have time.

When you see media consumption, please do mention if you are going to consume content from p1***d sources too, because if yes then do not buy the iPad. You will be limiting yourself on this. I own iPad (Mini). Also the aspect ratio is not great for widescreen viewing so you will get big black bars on iPad.

I also own Samsung tab A7 or so which I got during Covid times for my kid's online school and this is a good tablet and I use it for my media consumption.

I was looking for a tab in the similar range for someone and had shortlisted the Lenovo Tab Plus, Samsung Tab A and OnePlus Pad Go. The Lenovo was a recent release, was cheap during Diwali sales and had all the features as others.

In terms of longevity, nothing beats an iPad.

Be very cautious with Lenovo especially if you are subscribed to OTT apps. Most of those Lenovo ones don't have L1 DRM so netflix etc won't run in any higher than 720p or 480p in many cases.

Samsung's galaxy A7 has this "smart view" which is essentially screen mirroring which I use with my fire tv (as in onida brand fire tv) which works great and is a good feature.
