tata broadband 512kbps unlimited plan

Depends how important uptime is for you, if you can deal with days of downtime then go with Tata. But the reports i have been reading from long time users is they are not that great. A big factor is whether the cable will be overhead of underground.

The peeps with 1 month or 2 are raving about it, but this is honeymoon period i think :)

Is Airtel not available to you or do you defnitely have to have *upto* 512kbs ?

So far I've been using TATA for little under 2yrs... initially 256 UL, then 512 and now might go for 1Mbps. Thank god I have a business connection  cos at that time, there was no postpaid home in blore :p. So far I've had 2 long downtimes, one last month and one this month. Both the times the connection was down ~7 days. Now that I have direct contact with the service engineer, shouldn't be much of an issue. They've given me credit for the period. However other than these the connection is brilliant. No issues, superb speeds, no downtimes other than the odd 5 mins here and there.

i think their service varies in different area. in one area it may be good and very bad in other.

im from cochin and their service is really good. not much downtimes. my modem got hit by a lightning and i called the CC at night and gave the complain. the next day morning the service guy called and he replaced the modem..

im very much happy with tata..

If 1 Mbps costs only 3.6 k then i might as well go for that plan since it will only cost me Rs1.6k as my company will give Rs.2k every month for net connection:D:D

The company also plans to give another 2k every month for cell phone connection.Since i don't use phones much(infact i don't even remember the last time i made a phone call:D), i would like to know which WAP or GPRS connection(or whatever it's called) should i go for?? My cell serivice provider is BSNL...... What else should i know about connecting to the net using a cell phone??

This way i could stay connected even during downtimes!!

The connection will be a broadband one .It will not be thru GPRS.Its will through a broadband cable .You will be provided with a modem .Btw ,they are providing a intial discount of 20% . The total bill may come up to 3800-4100 (without discount)since this amnt mentioned is without service tax.

I am on unlimited 512 kbps and am paying 2076/- as bill .

OMG! If it comes anywhere under 3000 then I am definately going for it.

Tata Broadband is definately the best in the buisness. I have there 512 UL Plan and it is bloody great except for the 2 downtimes each for 2 days in the past 3 months! Awesome customer service too!

I live in baroda and currently using BSNL 256k unlimted plan.Would like to know about the quality of broadband service that tata provides. Also which plan is better--- Infinity - 512 Unlimited plan(512kbps speed) for 1,850 or Power On & On 6-512 prepaid unlimited plan(512kbps speed) for Rs1.8k a month ??

Also do we need a tata landline connection to get their broadband?? Anything else i need to know??

I am from your city & using Tata from more than 13 months , speed is really good as far as my experience , their share ratio is real 1:1 (though my monthly usage end up more on upload :p ) . As some other members advised get touchy with field engineer so u not need to call CC guys(again my ex. is good till now)

check this to believe their 1:1 ratio(me using their 256 unlimited)

@multi : how do u get so much detail for the usage...i just the date n time of connection...

i have a prepaid connection...any idea how to get those details?
