This is bad, tata should have started their own venture altogether. Remember if you mix 1 bucket of cake with 1 bucket of shit, you now have 2 buckets of shit.

BSNL was never the answer to Monopoly, antitrust laws were. Antitrust laws have yet to reach the vocabulary of an even worse institution than BSNL, indian judiciary. Govt shouldn't be in the telecom business period. Emergency systems during distasters yeah, that can be legally mandated for all telecoms. but all govt needs to do is regulation, tight world class, honest and fair regulation.

The only good thing indian govt did was to get 33% stake in Vodafone. And all that did was prevent the duopoly.

Didn't Tata do it with Docomo, but with the coming up of Jio, they had to sell off/ merge like Aircel?
