When it comes to multi-tasking the AthlonII X4 620 is better than the phenomII 550BE. The value of the extra 2 cores will be felt with new release of every software and Windows 7 is much better than vista when it comes to optimally using all the cores of the processor. So if gaming the phenomII will give great results in short term. But in long term AthlonII X4 is the way to go.

Good configs, though you ought to avoid Seagate 500Gb's. My friends 3 seagates have conked it with bad sectors. A lot of reports of bad 500GB's of seagates. Buy Western Digital, they give courier pickup service and drop off if something goes wrong with their HDD's. Damn good for just Rs.200 odd more than Seagates + no failing drive screwups

Thanks. Can you also provide warranty information for these components?

great job mate, buying guides are great help for everyone.

one question: can you give me a newegg link to 790gxb a3+? all i can find is 790gxb3 and 790gx a3+.

^^sorry typo. Corrected the same in the post.
@AILUG- Usually Proccy, mobo, RAM have a 3-year warranty and the HDD has a 5 yr warranty. Keyboard, mouse has one yr warranty.
@nikrusty. The 7200.12 series is much better the 7200.11 series of the seagate. Yes u can go for the WD ones for 200rs more but the seagate is a bit chepaer and not much a difference between the two.

Good work.....i need one more casual gaming rig for 35K ... with Intel core 2 Duo and any Ati graphics card

@cryme

Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 - 5.2k or Athlon II X4 620 - 5.3k

Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H - 5.9k

RAM: Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz - 2.6k

GPU: Palit 4850GT 512MB DDRIII - 6.5k

HDD: Seagate 500GB SATAII 7200.12 series- 2.4k

Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli ATX - 1.1k

SMPS: Gigabyte Superb 460W - 2.2k

Optical Drive: L.G. GH22NS30 SATA/Samsung SH-S22F SATA - 1.1k

This rig will cost you ~35-36k. Its better than the Intel rig as this is a DDRIII rig and also you have a quad core processor in the Athlon II X4.

The Biostar A785GE [from General Purpose Home Machine] isn't available in nehru place.

Are there any alternatives in the same configuration?

Plus, is there any reason why it's not widely sold?

Very good list indeed. one question though, are these Richie street prices or normal prices found on websites(other than deltapage)?

@ adbanginwar - Not only Ritchie street prices but also considering the prices in the price updates threads of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Also referring to the TE dealers sections.
@avvs_2099 - For a 40k rig dont go for the C2D. It doesnt provide you with a viable upgrade path. AMD is a better option
