TE should have its own Magazine--Monthly edition..

Where are you guys nothing is gonna happen if we are too slow.

I know one guy he is passionate about writing his own blog.Fortunately he is a member of our forum.

We can ask him if we can publish some of his articles in our magazine .

His user id is kuld33p.

Also we can ask mods to send a global message to all TE members .

This will let other users to participate here.

Anyways, its a great idea no doubt about that. But its a daunting task my friends. I am not here to discourage you. I can play my part very well. Well I don't think of me as a writer actually. I write my heart out loud..

Give me some time to go through the 6 pages of this thread... in the mean time.. lets work upon something.

I know dude its tough and lot of guys will loose interest during its release.

I also realize that our first release may not be up to the mark .However What is more important is that We did it .

"Rome Was Not Built In One Day and so do the other magazines".

Let the time tell its future but i think we can do it.

We have not started publicizing it over other threads. i want this to be happen once we have our first edition at least we will have something to show other what we are capable of.

Expecting others to be in same wavelength .

people, send him whatever reviews, views, articles, designs to him & let him sort it out, after being done, there are people here who can proof read & edit it out & let one come out in time then developments can happen gradually.

Alright, read the whole thread and here are my observations.

First and foremost, we need to get the admins/mods buy-in on this.. at least their go ahead if not their support. you don't want to be banned tomorrow for not following rules. (and then in anger starting a rivalry forum/blog somewhere else) we don't want that.. we are doing some work then mods needs to appreciate it.. we understand they might not have time to take part in all this but they need to say yes to it at least..

so first task is to get them to agree that we are doing something of this sort.. and its for the betterment of this forum.

secondly we need to decide upon the frequency and stick to if.. it can't be irregular.

3rd we need to find people, dedicated people who are willing to spend time and energy on to their assigned work.

4th I felt like everyone wants to be a boss here.. I'd say we choose the boss who has experience in this field and can actually guide us.. So basically we need a team for this job.. and we make a team only when we have team players.. so guys this is the most important part. leg pulling is fine but when it comes to insulting each other then you are good for nothing in the team.. so remember we have to be freidly and at the same time supportive..

5th We should first only and only think about online version of the magazine.. once its established then we can think about publishing a magazine.

6th l can see lot of designers here.. that's good.. guys share your work and ideas with each others. but we need more proof readers, writers, editors and i don't know hell lot of more guys.

7th we need to brainstorm on the sections and other stuff... what to put in what not.. we don't want it to be another magazine which lies in dirt after done.. we want people to refer to it later on..

I have more but lets for now listen to you guys on what do you have to say on all this.

If its fine to him then its great but i dont want to bombard him with lot of work because he is capable of doing it.

I guess He has good writing and organizing skills .I will be pleased if he and skumar9988 should lead the team.

Rest i leave it for you guys to decide.
 
How about a poll to decide the Editors? I think 3 should be the right number. Once these guys are decided, we can proceed to select the key contributors in each area. Also, how about listing out what sections would be nice to have. Some sections I can think of are (most straight from sections on TE):

- Show Off
- Music gears (players, speakers, IEMs)
- Gadget releases of the month with an accompanying "what experts say" one liners
- Build your PC guide of the month
- Online shopping

Right said but where are the mods its more than 6 page thread .Why aren't they listening. I guess we should hand over a first release copy to them .This way we can show them what we are capable of.

With a little advertisement this is not a big deal.

There are people doing great work individual for different categories of forum.

We just need to make them aware of its benefit .

Agree.I can see you and the thread owner to be suitable as a team leader but i leave this decision on rest of members .For me u and thread owner are the suitable candidates considering your past experience and thread owners dedication .

Meeting is the best option .We can have a meeting specific to location(Mumbai,Bangalore,Delhi).

This is just theoretical approach we need a practical solution .With no hard feeling can u please tell us one example where everyone is working together with no one to guide them.
 
Alright then Roll Call for who is in and who is not.. Owner please clean up the first thread completely and keep the useful part like titles and their owner name in it only.. You may wanna leave and rephrase the mission statement of this thread.

Once we are done with who is in and who is not then we approach Mods/Admins for their go ahead.

and then we wait for their reply.. if they don't reply in 24 hours then god knows what will happen.

what do you expect, suddenly one comes up & says i am the boss ???

i did say we can gradually develop it, ofcourse after one copy is out, there is going to be speculations, suggestions, criticism, etc, etc....... & believe me, we Indians are good at this (picking mistakes).

so lets not get off subject here & start & assist kuld33p as much as we can so that something comes out.

I am not sure about the technicalities
But for those who have their content ready can post their content online on a blog
Pm their content address to group leaders. So they can forward it to editing and post processing.
So the amount of content can be controlled.
If the news or the content is not cooked properly that is the hype of pre launch we can add it as a prelude for the next edition.
Also those articles which get a mention will have their blog address mentioned.
So readers can access the original content and give their relative feedback about their topic.
Original and the content in the magazine.
Best of luck guys.

great Idea.Point to be noted we should build a blog to maintain the articles .

but no one noticed I think.. This is really what should be done...
 
I am in for Photography/Camera related stuff...

however, since I m in small city, dont think I can get latest camera for reviews (if needed)..:(
