I happened to encounter a strange bug in the quest - The Forsworn Conspiracy at Markarth. This happens at the final stages when I am tasked with recovering evidences from 2 chaps. When I head to the treasury to meet the last guy, an ambush breaks out and I can't get the evidence from this guy which is essentially a journal. Even sneaking is of no help as I can't steal it from him - the moment I try to grab the journal he notices it and draws his sword. I had no potion of invisibility at that time so couldn't do much. Anyone here who was able complete this quest? I think this quest can be safely skipped? A Google search reveals the quest had a lot of glitches!

@krugur: got hold of 2 unusual gems and I am asked to take it to some appraiser. Cut down the surprises please. :P What is in store?

I recommend you to avoid the quest its bugged as hell load a previous save if its viable
Mine got bugged at the very last point of the quest. I couldnt retrieve my full gear from Madanach's b****. She STOLE my gear.

Regarding the unusual gems its a thieves guild quest item. Also dont forget to retrieve one more gem from the Thalmor embassy during the quest Diplomatic Immunity, I guess its the only chance when you can retrieve that gem thus successfully complete the quest.

Skill training using dragon bones!??

to start with you should have some buffer stock of gold.
Get some training from the required trainer. The cost of which depends on the level of training which you are taking. training for level 60 to 70 usually take ~1400 gold per level. So training for 5 levels leads to the trainer having around 7500 gold
Now sell the dragon bones and scales to the trainer and get your gold back.

ps- you will lose some gold since you sell items at a price lower that its value and you buy an item at a price higher than its value

^I play with a 360 controller, so that doesn't concern me. Any other significant improvements? And does it break anything?

Nothing that comes to notice. Check out the changelog, maybe it will have some info.

Thanks! I pretty much thought about leaving this one but there's this awesome armor inside that vault in the treasury. I so wanted it. Nvm. :(

Do these guys accept dragon scales/bones for trade? I mean the trade option doesn't turn up generally.

And this game is definitely a console port looking at the way the X360 controls are mapped. I tend to quick save quite often, so with the triggers, it's a breeze to do so. Same goes with assigning favorites and selecting those with the D-pad.

Another probable glitch I had encountered during my gameplay last Sunday - retrieving Red Eagle's sword. I am dead sure I got the Red Eagle's bane but the map pointer keeps vanishing each time I go to that cave there. Sold the sword finally. :|

I completed the Forsworn conspiracy quest without any problems, although that was the "other" version. Yes it is a console port, 360 was the lead system while in development. But they have done a decent job porting it to PC.

:|

first get the training from the trainer, this way the trainer will have significant gold and then ie after you have taken the training sell them the dragon bones and scales

yes they do accept the dragon scales and bones, its just like when you buy sell potions and other stuff

Every trader in skyrim has the capability to buy everything

Another awesome way to increase your level , skills and gold is :

1. Forge iron daggers::: iron ingots are cheap, its forging requires minimum skill and item increases the blacksmith skill

2. enchant the iron daggers :: the Banish enchantment is very good as the item's value increases a lot increase enchantment

use common or petty soul gems for this purpose, you can find a lot of soul gem (filed and empty )in Mzulft (Dwemer ruin) during the Eye of Magnus quest

Economics--

Iron ingot ~8 gold

petty / common soul gem ~10 to 50

leather strip ~ 3 (you can obtain by harvesting the animal hides use the tanning rack to obtain leather then leather strip)

total manufacturing cost ~ 60

the banish enchanted dagger sells at around 1500 gold

^Its easier to just follow him until he is asleep and then sneak up to him and steal back your gold.

I dont like stealing, I want to keep my conscience clean ;)

Actually no - This is only if you invest in a specific perk

I can vouch for that since I noticed this skill on one of the constellations yesterday.

Freaky where've you reached? :P

Think it's the Speech constellation?

Haven't played for almost 10 days now :| Had reached Level 15 with a decent balance of combat, armor and magic. And a mix of side quests and the main quest. Hoping to spend sometime in the coming week

Sorry my bad, but Babette (of the dark brotherhood) can buy the dragon parts, i hate Alchemy so got training from her. Didnt know there are restrictions on what you can sell to others, just assumed since it was allowed in Fallout 3 and NV.

Anyways, you can use Dragon parts for alchemy training. Alchemy is a PITA, progress is real slow if you want to do it by yourself, let alone gathering the ingredients

Also killing any Khajit is heart wrenching, they look so innocent.

This happened out of the blue

how do i know he is an assassin?

well when i searched his body i got a signed death warrant from the dark brotherhood :(

i have no idea why they wanted to kill me

For people who do not want to work for Dark Brotherhood, there is an alternate quest where you are assigned to destroy the Dark Brotherhood. But since there is no morality system in the game,it doesn't really matter what you choose to do. You might as well join the brotherhood for a variety in quests.

@Gannu : So what is it? Skyrim or Witcher 2? :ohyeah:

Skyrim without an iota of doubt! I just wish combat was a bit improved. Heck this game is slowly making me push Uncharted 3 to the second spot for the best title of the year.

Thought as much. BTW, iirc you played Mass Effect 2 for the first time this year too. Shouldn't that be on the no. 1 spot on your list?

Of the games I have played, this will be my TOP 5 modern games list :

1. Mass Effect 2

2. Skyrim

3. Red Dead Redemption

4. Max Payne 2

5. Grand Theft Auto 4
