There seems to be something about the midranges of Western Ghats that makes insects grow huge;

But the moth is pretty ordinary compared to;

That was taken about 4kms from my house but I haven't spotted another one of these in years.

Found this lil bugger on my laptop bag.

Although not shot at my house (thank freakin' god)... these are from my Seychelles trip. May not look much from the photos, as these were shot from the distance. The spider's body was about 3/3.5 inches long and entire span including the legs was larger than human hand.... probably around 8-10 inches I suppose. Talk about beeing creepy. :O
