oh just one more query.. my Installer wasn't working properly on my iphone 2G (1.1.4). I think it's causes Nullriver no longer supports installer.

So then, should i go ahead and click on installer also(cydia i will install), as said in the link that i had provided earlier? Or should i avoid installer and only put cydia.

After months of waiting, the iPhone 3GS has finally landed in India. While Airtel did announce last week that they are launching the iPhone in the country, they hadn't revealed price details of the handset.

Well, that was two days ago. We now have the pricing details of the iPhone 3GS in India revealed a few hours ago. Apparently, the older 8GB 3G version of the iPhone will continue to be sold here at a price of Rs. 29,500. The 16GB 3GS will set you back by a cool Rs. 35,500 while the top-end, 32GB iPhone 3GS will cost an outrageous 41,500 in India. These will be available in India from on March 26.

Airtel also has a data plan for iPhone users (the handsets will be locked to the Airtel network) that will give the 500MB of free data every month for an entire year (starting from the date of activation).

Guys .. please please help me unlock my IPHONE 3G on 3.1.3 if anyone has anyhow found out how to do it .. please .. and is anyone interested in buying a locked 3G ? it can be jailbroken though .. unlock is soon to be found .. please help me .. i want my IPHONE to be unlocked soon ..
 
finally i got it done.. and on my own.. though i'm still a lil behind..
got my iphone JB and unlocked on 2.2.1... it's works good.. no issues..

but i just don't feel the love.. it hasn't awed me..

with the 2.2.1, i have had issues with
Installer : not many sources work.. especially ripDev's source itself..
Cydia: huge errors..doesn't let me install any app.. after i installed winterboard, error keeps showing up on cydia..

the only thing keeping me from updating to 3.0 is the battery issues.. almost everybody has complaints about it..is it only because of fetch/push settings..?? right now my battery life is bout 2 days(wifi & fetch off, avg talkin and music time... 30 mins gaming)

need views..!!
 
i really dont get it. folks who are into BJ-ing (or JB-ing aka tinkering/whatever) their iphones - why not just get something like an N900 or a nice Android phone (motorola milestone - though apparently is is locked and hard if not impossible to root) for less heartache... ?

or get two of them, one iphone for normal non-JB use, and another open phone for playing around all you want :D
 
Why would you buy a separate iPhone just for jailbreaking? :S It's no big deal to jailbreak and offers so much more functionality lol.

btw I have a question. I'm studying in USA and have a 3GS over here. I'm gonna be in India over the summer and have an !DEA simcard. Can i just pop it in (3GS is unlocked) and it will detect data settings and stuff automatically so I can have push email and stuff working as usual?

@varun: dude wtf are you doing on that ancient firmware? you should've upgraded to 3.1.2 ages back. nobody even uses Installer anymore. i have absolutely no issues with battery life on my 3GS

I agree that i'm still on the ancient stuff.. but there's been a lot of speculation on the battery issues.. and it's been noticed on the 2G when upgraded into the 3.x firmware..

I have issues with cydia too.. i installed winterboard initially.. but now it doesn't install anything else.. somewhere i heard it was cause of the winterboard..
anybody's got any views on them..

also i'm looking for a 3GS..should i wait for june..the prices should drop arnd then right..??

If you're on 05.08 bootloader you can downgrade your baseband using fuzzyband and then unlock easily. Please check your bootloader version and try.

nope, i'm on 3.1.2 and 5.11.07 which is unlockable easily using blackra1n + blacksn0w
 
Hey guys do u know any cellphone tracker.. i tried "PhoneTracker" but it shows only my location.. i can't seem to track other cellphones.. !! if anyone knows let me know.. thanks!!
 
^^AFAIK .. Phonetracker is a prank app.. It is to be used to fool ur friends when you are standing close to them ... All it does is trai-angulate YOUR phone's position using animations and zoom(to add to the effect) and since ur friend is standing close to you .. You can fool him/her by saying that their phone was tracked... The type of phone tracker that you are asking for does not exist according to me....
 
hi guys finally i have purchase iphone 3GS 16GB [FM-3.1.3] [BB-05.12.01] with locked with orange it cost me £440.I like the charge its only a plug.Waiting for JB when release for 3.1.3.without JB is nothing.lamination at back.
