Yes it will work.

Before JB, actually backup your iPhone. I relied on earlier backups and lost most of my camera roll. Hence , actually backup and ensure that the backup is there. Update the iOS, Then JB using absinthe. And restore the backup.
 
The only reason I opted for the unlock was for the BB upgrade as 2.10.4 was only showing me one bar and using ultrasn0w to fix that was causing battery drain. Had to do a complete restore again but it was worth it :D.
 
With all these talks about apple replacing google maps with their proprietary map app, i wonder if it will still be possible to load google maps on the iOS devices. Although i cannot comment how good and capable apple maps will be (until we see it), i would really hope there is a way to get google maps.
 
There will always be google maps app on the app store to download and use so no worries. Also when Apple does something it really tries to do it the best way possible. Hopefully they implement maps better then google. I guess they are talking help from TomTom for the navigation.

I have a feeling google maps will not be in app store because that would mean a directly competing app in the app store which apple does not like. Anything which mimics the default native functionality of apple iOS is not acceptable. I think that is the reason why VLC was removed. I may be wrong.
 
One major difference between Apple and Google is....
Google makes most of its stuff available worldwide (except betas)...but Apple concentrates mainly on US. Ex: iPhone itself, iTunes Music Store, iTunes match, Most of the stuff in Siri doesn't work in india, etc.

I hope Apple doesn't build a mind-blowing maps application but limit it to USA!
 
Whatever is it, apple won't do any better for Indian maps.
I'm happy with sygic & mapmyindia.
And sometimes google earth.
 
I have an iPod, iPhone and iPad and yesterday I downloaded a game on my iPad and it automatically got downloaded on the iPhone while nothing on iPod. All these three devices have a common apple Id. What setting I need to do to avoid this automatic downloading on other devices.

have you synced you ipod(itouch).
if you download something on a idevice, while syncing it was restored/copied to your computer. so any other device you sync will be synced.

No syncing done, it automatically got downloaded on other device too.

That's the feature of iDevices!!

If you have camera roll synced with iCloud, take a picture on iPhone and see it being downloaded to your iPad !!

This feature is nice but can cause problem with too much app or roll data, your iDevices must have enough space to contain the data. Soon, Google or Samsung will try to include this feature on android. :P
Google Play store has a feature where you Download an app via PC and it auto downloads in your android phone via Internet.
 
I need some help guys. I need to backup and restore smses/imesseges on my iPhone without using iCloud or iTunes.

Do we have an app for that or any cydia tweak or anything as such.
 
You can use file explorer such as PhoneView to export SMS as pdf. Or you can go to the SMS folder (google to know the exact folder location) and copy the sms.db file. This also can be done using PhoneView or iExplorer.
 
Which windows software should I use to access iphone / iPad in windows explorer like way. I want to put few video files in the folder which VLC suggests to view videos on iPad / iPhone.
 
The best solution I found was the iBackupApp. It works great. Only problem is that it does not back up Pics in iMesseges.
