The "Everyday" show-off thread !

What in the name of God, is that..???

lol.

Congrats, Nice watch. Is there more function of like date and damage and place of purchase.

Nope, no other features. A straightforward self-winding mechanical watch. Can also be hand wound.

Have been wanting one since it got released, but I was a poor student then. It was only made for a small period of time and only sold in Japan. I had to buy it used, from Yahoo Auctions Japan through a proxy buying service. Someone in my office reads Japanese, so I could at least understand the listing. Total cost+customs came to around $575.

Wow...nice to see that is a mechanical. Respect.

@Black_Hawk: Congrats on the Fiio. Could you tell me will it work with TV? I mean with my Bravia? The audio output is like crap by default. I mean will it need to be connected in a 3.5 mm audio port or USB?

Courier guy dropped it off this evening...

Congrats on the XB90, and welcome to the XB club. You will see how great it is, and the advantage of a big driver.
About the Fiio, well as you said its connectivity is 3.5 mm, then I think I will be able to connect it with the TV, just plug the Fiio in the 3.5 mm port of the Bravia, and then plug my headphone in the 3.5 mm in the Fiio, I guess it will work?

@ithehappy: Thanks mate... I let the IEM's burn in last night and then connected them to my phone via the FiiO E11 and it the experience was very, very satisfying. The bass on this thing is just incredible with such clear mids and the vocals sound so clean. I was actually scared with the 'Extra Bass' logo slammed on the box by Sony, thinking they would probably be too bass heavy and kill the mids and worst yet leave me with a headache. But nopers, this thing sure dishes out great clarity. I'm only hoping it'll sound even better as they burn-in more, those 13.5mm drivers definitely pack a punch! Although the size of the IEM's is a tad on the larger side but they lodged into my ears very comfortably. Also, love the plethora of ear-buds in that neat little leather case which Sony provided with these IEM's. specially the sound isolating one's with inner-foam.

Now, about the FiiO E11 and your TV setup, yes connecting it to your TV via the 3.55mm input and then using your headphones through the 3.55mm output slot should work. But mate, I would strongly suggest you ask other TE audio experts (in particular, @esanthosh ) before buying the FiiO E11 for this sole purpose so that you know for a fact it will suffice that purpose. :)

EDIT: @ithehappy - Won't a TV + Soundbar be a better option?

@Black_Hawk : Yes brother, it will sound even better after around one week burn in. My initial impression was not awesome to be fair, the reason is it was way too bass heavy for me, and the overall sound came out kinda muddy. I am huge bass fan btw (however I hate those mid bass hump units, like in Shure SE215, it was pathetic), but not when it overwhelms the mid's and the vocal clarity, so I had to switch to a treble friendly custom equalizer from a rock friendly one. Then after one week, the bass settled down, and the overall music experience was even better. At first, before burn in, I was thinking about selling it and getting a Solid bass line AT CK77 or something, but now I can forget about it.
And the fit mate, it goes inside my ear and stays there so nicely, yet comfortably, the noise isolation is awesome. Helps me in my sleep time. But I didn't like the foam tips, as they didn't fit me well, not better than the silicon tips, also they keep changing shape, which I am not a fan of.

About the Fiio, thanks for mentioning out an experienced member, I will ask him. I don't like speaker systems, cause I am crazy about details, and no matter how expensive speaker I used, never got the same details via a speaker than in headphone. Also to get best details from a speaker you need to have the sound at pretty much high, and as I watch movies after midnight its kinda awkward, parents will kill me.

@ithehappy : Buddy, my present portable audio gear looks like this:

DSCF1631.jpg

It consists of the following components: My old Samsung Wave (GT-S8500) which I no longer use as a phone and is only for holding my music with a 8GB Sandisk MicroSD card, The FiiO E11 Kilimanjaro Amplifier, The Sony MDR-XB90EX IEM's.

I'm going to either buy the Sandisk Clip+ or the Cowon iAudio 10 next month to replace the Samsung Wave. Currently undecided though on which to go for.

@Black_Hawk : Lol, mate, it's nice :) And please don't post any photos of the Wave any more, it gives me a huge sadness cause I sold it when upgraded to S2. One of the best phone, with best display, with best size, and great build quality I have ever used.
And I would definitely go for the Coown, but hey that's just me.

PS: If you ever decide to sale that Wave you know whom to contact ;)

@ithehappy : Hehe... I understand buddy. I was actually in the same boat once way back, was very close to selling away my Samsung Wave and decided against it at the end. Like you mentioned in your post above, the sheer build quality of the phone is brilliant not to mention the seamless UI.

I posted over at Head-fi last night about getting the Sansa Clip+ and the general opinion was that even though the Clip+ is legendary in it's own rights but since I am amping the Wave's source through the FiiO E11 it wouldn't make a huge difference. Also, with the larger screen and the lovely touch controls on the Wave I don't think it's going to be worth it to shell out 3k+ for the Clip+ honestly. Also... the amazing album/ song cover display that pops up on the Wave's default music player, love that. I usually attach those album/ song cover through a nifty software called Mp3tag and it works like a gem. :)
