Gannu - Where is this new place? What's the rent?

Opposite Bhulka Bhavan school, Adajan road. Not really far from the previous residence actually. Rent is 8500 INR per month. Only the kitchen is furnished.

When are you dropping by? Are you presently residing at Surat? How's the toddler doing? :)

That's a good location. I am amazed at the way Surat is developing as a city. I've heard about the plans for a couple of new bridges and riverfront (similar to the one in Ahmedabad). I don't stay in Surat but my brother and folks do, so I keep traveling there quite regularly. I was in Surat on the day of the circular rainbow (solar halo I think). The toddler is like a software with auto-upgrade on !! Everyday I get to experience new features (some good and some bad). But he's just awesome (one of the reasons I've stopped visiting TE much)

woah gannu!
that last pic should be added to your owners catalogue to attract future tenants.

Hey thanks for the compliment! The landlord hasn't visited our home after we've moved in. I don't think he ever will. :p

Haha that's awesome. It's always fun to see a young one nurture and grow up. I have a nephew and a niece and I've been with them since their birth until they turned 1 or 2 years. I don't even know how the parents feel - probably I'd experience it myself sometime down the line, but there's plenty of time before that to complete some titles and then some. :p

As for Surat, or let us just say Gujarat, it is developing by the day. I have so much respect for Modi - he has done a lot for improving the state. Hell, there's a flyover being built bang in front of our road. And several more planned here and there.

In case you come down to Surat, do let us know and the regulars here (me, doc and Abhi) will meet up with you over a meal or something. :)

Got my Marcus Fenix statue delivered today.

IMAG0620.jpg

From Bombay Merch. Relatively a new dealer. So inform him not to include the invoice on the package as he is not very well aware of the hassles these courier guys create.

Had to fight with the Blue dart idiot.
He charged me Rs.112 as service charges but was giving a receipt of Rs56(Octroi paid) only.

When I asked about the extra charges he bluntly took the package from my hand and asked me to come to his office and collect it.
He called his boss and talked with the seller and the charges were settled.
I scolded him and his boss for not calling me before coming here.
Asked the security guard to keep his bag and not give it back to him unless he comes back and gives me a proper receipt of the amount paid.
The guy has left his bag at the security counter and gone to get the receipt.
Once again my experience has proved right. In Maharashtra things don't work right in the first place if you try to be too polite.
Earlier when I was talking politely with the delivery guy he was talking in high voice. Once I started firing back at him in marathi he was like a dog with his tail under his..... :)
Gannu : did you pay any octroi on this one?
