The "Everyday" show-off thread !

At what point is it too many boxes ? :tearsofjoy:
I have a small stack in my room also of product boxes. My mom nags me all the time to throw them out.
How do you decide what to throw out and what to keep ?
I keep all the important boxes like PC hardware, peripherals, higher end gadgets and devices especially because these need proper packing when you decide to sell it in the future. For most electronic items, I keep the boxes for warranty / RMA issues. Once warranty period is done and if not important then I throw it out.
Some boxes have inner packaging layers which I recycle and use it to keep other smaller stuff inside cupboards, lofts or other bigger boxes in storage. The outer layer brand packaging I fold and keep away for memories (maybe after some years if it’s irrelevant I’d throw it out).

I put some smaller irrelevant boxes in an old defunct monitor box and then kept it in a storage loft. And the more important smaller boxes in an easy to access drawer. Always keep your PC case packaging, this is important for reselling in future, I made a mistake of not keeping my previous case box and had to sell it locally.

Found some of my setup boxes while doing some cleaning, decided to stack them up for display!
Amazing setup mate. Correct me if I'm wrong but I see you have granite as your desktop. It's not a common choice. Coming to think of it, I think it's a better material than wooden laminate considering the heat coefficient of natural stone is better suited for Indian climate. I like its edge polish too. We have incompetent stonemasons. I know it can be done be done as I have done it myself but never seen anyone doing it professionally here. BTW, do you use mouse pad?

Thanks! The desk is fully made of wood, no granite. It’s just looking shiny because of the paint and light reflections. Not using laminate either, it’s fully painted, custom made by my Dad and me.

Here’e some older (2019) “brighter“ pictures.

These pictures are current (2022). Everything has aged a bit now, paint issues and scratches on the table due to usage etc. Need to repaint everything soon.

Got a LG OLED C2 65 yesterday. LG is running Gudi Padwa offers, and the price, discounting etc at a LG store here in Pune brought the price to sub 1.8 lacs. That price is lower than the lowest Samsung Neo QLED of the same size.
Couple of comments were made so sharing more info:

I mentioned price as sub 1.8, not giving more specific info, and the offer is over now I believe
5 year warranty was bundled - 3 at outlet (I believe this is default), 2 was extended by LG seperately at the time of installation
I will need to replace this soon - Mataji said it is too small for the space, so if anyone in Pune will be interested, let me know around Diwali

I’ve been building and upgrading my setup for nearly 9 years now, as for costs I cannot say, I’ve upgraded and sold stuff over the years. I’m still using an Intel 8th Gen CPU currently paired with a 3080Ti, previously had the 4790k paired with a 780Ti and then 2080Ti. Before all this, like 10+ years ago I had an AMD CPU and AMD Sapphire GPU, this period I had a terrible experience with AMD, probably will never go back to them again.

As you can see, from around 2014 I’ve been planning and slowly upgrading everything, adding stuff, better RGB and upgrading hardware and peripherals.

If you want a link with whatever parts, RGB etc, I use this website called ”Kit”, in this I’ve added everything you see. It’s not very recent, I’ve yet to update some newer stuff.

Edit: If you’ll want contact info for the Nanoleaf RGB lighting, I can send you‘ll the details. I buy all my stuff from the national distributor, “Levyltec - Nanoleaf India” located in Mumbai. Official warranty, bill etc.
