re: The Fitness Thread !

I am 178cms (5ft 10") and weigh around 80kgs now.

Once upon a time in class 12th, i used to weigh 65 kgs and had 4 packs.

I used to be an athlete and was good at all the track events.

But joined engineering and had to travel for almost 4 hrs per day.

Never exercised after that and become a heavy weight champion weighing at 94 kg.

After my studies got over, i had a phase of depression which made me weigh to 76 kg in just 3 months. I lost 18 kg in 2 months. It made me very weak and tired. Then after the depression phase i started gaining weight and came to 78kgs

Then I started my career, with my first job in a top IT company 1 year and 9 months back and . I then started exercising(only jogging in the night for 45 mins) and diet control. I used to eat very less, which actually made me more tired and caused fatigue. I came down to 72 kg. Then 6 months back in the midst of economic recession when there was no work for most people, i was the busiest in my life. I am working like 9-9 everyday, weekends inclusive.

Now i weigh 80kgs and look like i am in my 6th month of pregnancy. :(

People hardly believe i was into athletics and all, when they see me now. They just laugh.

I seriously want to be fit. I have started Pranayam watching Baba Ramdev. Must say that you feel good after doing it. :)

But i still want to do some physical activity.

re: The Fitness Thread !

What is the advice for people who feel their body metabolism rate is very low (like me).
In such caes we need to take utmost care while eating something else because of screwed up metabolism rate that thing immediately (not literally) shows on body.

re: The Fitness Thread !

Here goes my story

I was bubbly from childhood and now i am huge and have a big jumbo pack.I am 6.2" and weigh around 110kgs.I am damn over weight i guess about 25~30 Kgs.I am facing a lot of issues due to over weight.I get severe lower back ache at times and even knee joint pains.I did join gym and did some jogging and cycling ,it did not go for long.I am a lazy a$$:ashamed::.I want to start over all again and reduce my weight badly.I need all of ur help in cutting down weight(like diet plan and workout plan).I started walking a lot after i have come to NZ,few days back i came to know that my univ has a gym but no trainer.I am very serious in cutting down my weight this time.

re: The Fitness Thread !

Doing strength training with healthy diet is the best way to keep fat off and have a healthy body. Doing HIIT initiially will break u down like anything, it is very stressful yet effective. Start with low intensity cardio.. but give maximum attention to core lifts/power moves, gradually get stronger, build endurance and start HIIT, ideally it should be done when u can squat 1.5X BW i.e: if u r 70 kgs u should be able to squat 105 Kgs = this takes more than 6 months as we have crap diet in india. :S

This is the most brutal form of HIIT:

Try HIIT, the single most thing you can do to reduce bodyfat really fast without doing cardio sessions for hours.

re: The Fitness Thread !

This will work for u 100%

Build Muscle & Lose Fat Through Strength Training | StrongLifts.com

Do it, forget cardio in the initial stages, your knees won't take cardio... ur back will kill u, make them bulletproof, running will be easier as u progress.

cardio without power training is foolishness as 60% of the weight u will loose (if u ever loose it the fastest way will be lean muscle)

Millions of people are doing it worldwide, read the experience of forum users.

Your priority should be weight Training>Diet>cardio OR be prepared to be overweight whole life with complications arising from a weak lower back.

re: The Fitness Thread !

My first month in gym will end at 7th oct.

i am 5'6" and last week my weight was 52.7kgs(weight seems to be an issue cause of less fat)

i am quite happy with my results, now bones are less visible on my upper body as compared to before and slowly week by week gaining more strength. actually i have one problem that i eat a lot but my body dont take it.

i started with and now am able to do"

(before - now)

dips: 5 - 30(in 2 sets)

chinups: 2 - 16(in 2 sets)

dumbells: 3kg(2sets, 20 reps) - 4kg(4sets - 20reps) n many more in chest, triceps, back and legs.

(i go to gym in the evening but planning to start attending it in the morning as then my whole evening will be free for studies)

Before going to gym i take 2-3 bananas and after coming from gym i take .. 2 boiled eggs + 1 big glass bananashake(with atleast 2 bananas in it)

i am satisfied with the improvements but will love to have some tips by the experts, i need FAT ... pls suggest some diets.
