Over the last few days, there have been a few rumours about a Google Nexus 2. It seems like it is being manufactured by Samsung this time. The last rumours indicated that the phone had been delayed due to some hardware issues. Here is the latest:

Nexus S for T-Mobile gets brief Best Buy Mobile nod: there and gone again -- Engadget

Is this the Nexus S? -- Engadget

Seems like a Samsung Galaxy S with vanilla Android 2.3 (gingerbread) loaded. There also seems to be a front camera. The flyer indicates that it will be out during the holiday season, which means either this month or next month!

Another Update:

Google Nexus S is the Samsung GT-i9020? -- Engadget

Although the article does mention 4.5", the image in that article states that the actual screen size is going to be 4.3" and not 4.5"!

I guess there will be 2 models. Just like Desire/Nexus one. Samsung Nexus S will be the google flagbearer and the 4.5 incher will be the next iteration of galaxy S.

Just a thought :D

nexus s seems to be a minor upgrade to the galaxy s with 2 cameras and a flash. but since it is a nexus device, the biggest advantage will be quick updates. it might be the first device to get android updates everytime until the next nexus device comes out. also, it seems like it will be out within the next 2-4 weeks.

the 4.5 inch beast will probably be announced in feb, as the slide mentions. it looks like it will be the real galaxy s upgrade!

Nice to see a couple of smartphones coming next year

and since its from samsung it will be available in India too

Cheers !

What hardware problems!

That 4.3/4.5" is most likely a render, or a fake. Don't really take anything from that... till there is concrete evidence.

Not another palsticky phone with out camera flash and with RFS file system :|
Plasticky..... The perfect word to describe the SGS and hope it isn't repeated with the NS.

:P

how to buy it in India ?? what sources should someone prefer ? I was waiting for this release to compare it with SGS. Please can someone suggest which one to choose ?

If you dont have any of the android phones, if you are fine with 16GB internal memory which is non expandable. And ready to do away with 720p video recording which might come later. Then deifnitely Nexus S :)

Waiting for the AnandTech review :)

2.3 has GPU-assisted UI animations and concurrent garbage collector - hopefully this will bring the responsiveness up to par with iOS and what looks like nice WP7 UI.

I wonder if one were to buy the Nexus S, is there a chance of NOT getting 3.0 (honeycomb) when it comes out? HoneyC supposedly will have totally new UI, so I would be disappointed if I bought the NS and did not get 3.0...
