Thats what Im worried abt. T20 is usually won by talented underdogs who scamper like rats

i've never seen cricket on television have such bad production values... laxman sivaramakrishnan is a sri lankan captain??? jeez.. you can atleast know the background of your own commentators.. the jarring vodafone/godrej ads that keep popping up... the totally incompetent cameramen who do not know how to track a ball..
and all this without even coming to the point of that money sucking bas!@#d lalit modi... should have seen him during that mohali game.. saala preity zinta pe chance pe dance maar raha tha..

sTALKEr said:what sort of potential are you talking about?? i still cant understand why Subhash Chandra aint forcing the issue and taking the BCCI to court.. His team came up with a concept. They were open about their commercial motives. they approached the bcci..
the bcci starts talking to them. the bcci does a volte face.. the bcci nicks all plans.. the bcci outlaws the icl.. the bcci cashes in on concept. thats waht has happened.
maybe its just coz of my in-born hatred towards the BCCI,, but somehow i feel that i enjoyed watching the ICL matches a lot mroe than the IPL games ive seen. did anyone notice how the ads for the ICL matches were structured? it was pretty obvious that they werent exactly lacking in advertisers.. yet, they gave a damn abt the viewers. hell, during the last few overs of an innings they so much as dint show any ads.. the commentators were given a Clean+Free hand... no interruptions in mid-sentences.. long meaningful discussions tht neednt be broken for ad-breaks.
and some really good cricket all around. it wasnt all sixer and four smashing. and despite the ghastly presence of rakhi sawant at some gamesthe matches were very enjoyable/watchable.
my whole grouse here is not abt the concept of a t20 league.. but mroe abt the way the BCCI has 'managed' to mis-manage(sic) rip-off the concept.
Today they have sold 'portal' rights to a media company, tomorrow they might sell the print media rights to someone else(thereby outlawing coverage on any other print media companys publications). Farfetched as it might sound.... with Lalit Modi in control.. anything is possible.
ps- i dont mind ads.. but i do mind it when a third of my screen gets gobbled up mid over.. and some mindless jingle plays at more than 2x the volume that ive set it to. effectively drowning out whatever the comments being offered by the experts might be.(the mid-over ad is not something new, howevr the double volume amplified jingles surely are.)
