Summary

It can be seen that Core i5 750 lags behind in rendering and HD programs. While in games, they have basically the same performance. It can explain that more thread offers no help to games. Hence i5 750 has an opportunity to compete with i7 920. When it comes to power consumption, Core i5 750+P55 is better than i7 920+X58.

Although LGA 1156 processors still need half a month to release,motherboard has walked ahead. At present,many motherboard vendors has offered pre-order or shipment start. It seems that LGA 1156 is coming closer to us. When LGA 1156 is officially launched,various P55 motherboard will appear in major stores next month. Only time can tell us whether Core i5 processors can become the hot sales for mid or high-end users.

Interesting. Waiting for i5's to unleash itself. Just what I was waiting for, AMD prices will drop fast and low.
 
i7 is definetly better than i5....but i guess it avoids the confusion of choosing between i5 750/q9550/955BE...
 
yah dude i know my computer is a beast but thats because of the blessings of god and my parents

on topic i think i5 would actually be a good option for those who are only concerned about gaming and not about anything else

also guys rate my rig plz
 
guys i was about to buy a x2 550BE based VFM rig....shud i wait for the i5 to launch....maybe i can afford it or maybe the prices of the existing amd proccys will go down...what do u suggest
 
^^There is no point in waiting, i5 will not debut any time soon maybe one or 2 monts later. Apart from that if he is aiming for X2 its pretty clear that he is budget constraint. The i5 will retails no less than 12k in India. consider its $200 for the lowest i5 for now.

Core i5 Processor and P55 Motherboards Unofficial Sale​
Intel Taiwan has been selling its full range of Core i5 and Core i7 Socket LGA-1156 Lynnfield based processors. And it’s not just one shop selling them, literally all of the PC hardware shops are selling them past one week.
Also range of ASUS and GIGABYTE LGA-1156 based Intel P55 Express motherboards were on sale at computer market in Taipei.
