Is there a cydia tweak for iPad which can ensure that the apps do not get killed by Apple's internal manager ?
I use torrents using iTransmission many a times but the torrent gets paused so want something which keeps the iPad alive all the time.
The only option currently is to keep the screen on full time and ensure the iPad is not locked but want something better.
 
Hi guys !! I'll be joining in a few days after my iPad's arrival -- wanted to start ahead of my self --

Was looking for a File Explorer app that works over network connections -- Like a Samba Server -- I have ES File Explorer which does that on my android phone -- Wanted something similar on my iDevice -- ohh and free -- because I'm cheap :p


Edit: Main idea is to get to play media files that are there on my NAS -- Music and Videos -- generaly mkv and mp4 files.

It is weird but Im unable to find an option to delete a video from my Photos app. Also is there any way that the downloads etc donot get paused when we minimize the app? And how do I get Videos into the iPad without using iTunes?(iPad 4 6.1.1 JB)
 
recently i am seeing more random app and game crashes than earlier on my iPad original (JB'ed).... is there any solution...other than a reset....?
i am seeing the facebook and flipboard app size increasing...like ~100-200 MB.... is it due to temp cache....any way to clear that....?

or could this be any other memory issue....? Please advice

Deleting videos is same as photos within the camera roll. There would be a small icon on top right with an outward arrow, tap that and select the video you want to delete, after tapping the delete icon will get highlighted on top left. Use that to delete the video.

Downloads by default will be paused when you minimize the app. But if your iPad is jailbroken then I am pretty sure there are cydia tweaks that ensure that programs in background are not killed by apple's internal task manager. One of them I think is insomnia and another one is backgrounder. But I suggest you search first as I have never used any of these.

Now coming to videos, how do you plan to view those videos ? In what third party player ? I suspect they are not in the .mp4 format ?
You can use ifunbox in your computer to copy the files without iTunes.

I use AVplayer on my iPhone and AVPlayer HD on iPad to watch .mkv,.avi etc files and use ifunbox to copy the files.

Hi @raksrules media content is on my NAS and is shared by hosting on a SMB server -- it's a plug device running archlinuxarm -- Normally on my Android device I would use a File Explorer like ES File Explorer and access the shared folder on my NAS -- then play the content using a media player like Dice Player or what have you.

So was looking for a way to basically access my movies and tv-shows on my NAS on my iPad -- So do I need a File Explorer and Player both or a just a player would do ?

Also I don't want to copy content to my iPad just want to stream it through the SMB server.

I have no idea about the SMB server, I have couple of HDD's that I stream using Air Video. I installed the same on my computer and use it to stream videos on my iPad. It plays almost every format including .mkv. For music streaming i.e. mp3 etc, I use Airplay it server on my iPhone 5 and connect it to my audio system via aux.
 
What you are doing is one way of achieving what I want -- but it's not very energy efficient -- why don't you share those HDD over NAS and use a player that can run files off the network ?

If there is such a thing for a non jailbroken iOS -- I know XBMC does this but it requires JB :(

Use ifunbox and install apps to iPad without iTunes. You need to get the .IPA first. Only apps that you have downloaded (using your apple id) will get installed. P1rated ones wont work (unless jailbroken and appsync installed)

Ok so I'm setting up my apple id and it's asking for credit card details ? -- as I had read about it -- can I skip it ?

Do you know what are the proper settings to use if i want to run iCleaner ? I have it installed in my iPhone but i am bit scared to run the utility, incase it messes up with something or deletes something which it is not supposed to.

Btw we should open a separate thread for discussion iOS jailbreak and cydia apps and tweaks. iOS users will admit that jailbreaking and installing those wonderful tweaks and apps makes their iPhone / iPad experience much much better.

It can be skipped if you sign up for US Store, but you must provide US address, If you ever decided to buy anything in Indian price or Indian store you must sign up for another apple ID.....coz US apple store didn't take any Indian Card.

Is it advisable to operate online Net Banking Site (If the site compatible) with Stock iPad ? iPad keyboard work as Virtual Keyboard Right ? Is it secure to do online transaction ?

Those virtual keyboard are to protect against keyloggers mainly in PC. I am pretty sure you wont have any keyloggers on an iPad so yes should be safe.

That was my first guess did not work out that way. don't get the None payment option.
