hey guys !! can u plz help me out .. I am soon goona resign and get into a B school. I have a lap for normal presentations and surfing, reading books and all but i was thinking of getting something more portable. So i thought y not ipad

So i am thinking about buying ipad 2. I need to know if i can open .ppt files in it and edit presentations and documents in it. For eg, If i make a presentation and a word doc on my lap (win 7) can i view it in ipad and edit the same ?

Also in 16 GB version how much space is user accessible ??

And can any one update me with the ongoing mtnl 3g data plans in delhi ?

I paid 460 $ for a Like New condition one. New one was coming to 550 $ or something. If the one i receive does not live upto the description of like new, i shall return it and get another one.

Based on your usage,get the base 16GB iPad 2, Buy Documents to go/Keynote for your PPTs editing and stuff.
About MTNL 3G - Dunno dude. I Am from hyd!
 
Hey Guys...I wanted to know if I can access a netwrok hardrive from an iPad? What I mean is, suppose I get a wifi router with USB port to attach my portable hard drive then can I access the data from it via wifi? Like playing movies, music, opening .pdf files, etc...

My use :
presentations, Internet (browsing, emails, fb etc), some educational apps for my Niece etc, I forgot, I love Gaming capability of the new iPad. But paying like 10k more for the new ipad is worth it?

also, are there any good GPS apps (with detailed India map)? I will be using it a lot.

Yes it is totally worth it.the onboard maps are good enough and have served my purpose whenever i have used it.
New ipad is awesome and the screen is just different class.

get the new ipad buddy, its the best bet.
the things you're looking for will look good on the retina screen.

For detailed maps for india, get the sygic & mapmyindia, i use and its the best and works offline too. it would cost around 40$, i think so.

3g dongles works with some android tabs but not the iPad.

3g dongles works with some android tabs but not the iPad.

Depends if you feel gaming is worth Rs.10k extra!!
I've the ipad2, and i see absolutely no reason to shift to the new ipad. I use resource intensive apps like garageband, and it responds well enough.
Reg. retina display, i 'd like to say theres nothing so fabulously exciting about it unless you are a graphic-freak. For normal day-to-day purposes, an ipad2 more than satisfies your needs.

I too would second this. I went to best buy last month to see what retina display was all about and they had the iPad 2 and iPad 3 (new iPad) kept side by side with all same apps and games installed. I played couple of games (one angry birds and one fighter plane simulator types). To me i did not find much difference (to be honest no difference) between the two displays and hence i chose to go with iPad.

Btw still yet to receive my iPad 2. Super slow service from Fedex and USPS here :@
 
Finally got my iPad 2 16GB Wifi+3G today. One more addition to my iFamily after iPhone and iPod Touch. Need to update to latest iOS. Currently it is on 4.X so no iOS 5.x goodies for now.

It is not brand new but Used-Like new condition. The actual condition is also like that (i saw some reviews on amazon that few people did not get what was advertised). Also tried my Tmobile SIM and it is working fine on EDGE network.
 
Is iPad2 fast enough to run all the apps. I don't care if it doesn't handle heavy games. All I want is a lagfree device where I can multitask easily. I do a lot of multitasking (surf Internet, listen to Music, chat with friends and hell lot of things)

Congrats, thats farely cheap.. wow, you are lucky to get one for that price. I would suggest you to check battery life also.

Multi-tasking, no issues unless you run multiple resource-intensive ones.
Judging by your doubts, i suggest you try out a demo using a friend's or at an iStore. :)

even the base ipad will do it without breaking a sweat.
