The Lego (and Knockoffs) Thread

Cool thread. Couple of months ago during the lockdown I found my old Legos while cleaning the house. All of them were brought from abroad and are 15+ years old. Unfortunately, I threw away the boxes so not sure which series they belong too. And as expected, some pieces were missing, but it was still fun to build them again.

Fantastic Circa 90's sets you have there! Please keep these safely in your collection now. :)

Thought I would key in some more info here on the sets since you say you have lost the boxes:

Left: LEGO 6973 Deep Freeze Defender (1993). It's from the LEGO SYSTEM Ice Planet 2002 set consisting of 420 pieces.

Center: LEGO Land Jet 7 (1998). It's from the LEGO SYSTEM Extreme Team set consisting of 105 pieces.

Right: LEGO 6180 Hydro Search Sub (1998). It's from the LEGO SYSTEM Hydronauts set consisting of 274 pieces.

Cheers!

Only one mini-figure comes with the set which doubles-up for either a Driver for the GT-R or a Pit Crew Guy:

The GT-R looks very sexy and the entire build was very fun to do. As with LEGO the smoothness when fitting even the tiniest blocks was very smooth and gave a very gratifying experience. The build is solid and holds nicely once complete. One gripe I have however is with the stickers that come with LEGO sets. I somehow always mess up while applying 1 or 2 of them and have to peel them off to re-apply them correctly and that's where the problem arises... the edges of the stickers don't stay stuck or worse little creases form on the stickers. The creases can be pushed back and beveled out and I'm going to get some Feviquick to take care of the pesky edges. That should fix the issues. In any case, this was a great build and fun to do!

Cheers and Happy Blocking! :)

Looking to buy lego set for my 12 year old. Please suggest some place with great value for money and can order online. I am currently in Surat. The sets are way to costly !
Also can you recommend me some of those sets ?
Thanks !

This is a nice little set which will probably take 30-40 minutes to put together but I took my time with it for dearth of better things to do on a long Lockdown day (yes, I am an AFOL).The Airplane reminded me of the Skimmer in GTA Vice City and about that soddin' "Dildo Dodo" mission which took me a zillion tries to pass, LoL! It has a manually rotatable propeller. The letter box with the white birdie on it is very cute and the couple of small letters are a neat touch from LEGO. The mailman doubles up as the airplane Pilot as well.

Cheers and Happy Bricking :)

Made this over the weekend. It is of series Alien Conquest. I guess the build is called Alien Mothership. Few pieces are missing.

After the build, I hanged (hung?) it over our swing.

Not sure if visible but there is an arm below which extends and is holding a prisoner (the main lego person is lost so I am using some other one and that's why it is smiling).

How big is the final build going to be? Please show us once it is built (I know it is probably 2 months away from receiving).

I will definitely upload photographs once I receive it and complete the build my friend. In the meantime here are the measurements given on the website:
