hey .. i want 2 buy a new phone .. im a bit confused at dis moment .. well .. my eyes are on 5800, Iphone(2nds), E90(2nds). D thing wich i want in d fon is i want gud web browser thru wi-fi, gud music interface n quality, gud video quality so dat i can watch movies, storage(a bit large) ,camera wich shud be quite sophisticated, and the fon shud be fast(shudnt hang much). Im having a W395 wich is a bit irritating me.. Plz help me out. Also what i wanted to ask is .. Is there any apple firmware update where it enable Iphone(2g) to have bluetooth tranfers with odr fones ? Im willing to go for iphone .. wud it be a gud buy or do u suggest me smodr fon ?
ps: my budget stands nt more that 13.5k
im gettin d sets in : iphone : 13k
E90 : 14k
5800 : 13k

Guys, i need to purchase a couple of cell phones

1. For my brother.
Requirement - a good camera and internet funtionality.
Budget upto 7k

So far i have shortlisted Nokia 6303 c. Any other choices in this range?

2. For my Dad.
Requirement :
-Since he has a hearing problem, need a phone with the BEST call clarity and the loudest(without turning on speaker)
-it should have a single button press speaker functionality while on call.
Budget : upto 8k
Have not shortlisted anything for this.

suggestions plzz

suggestions for a phone which is good at fundamentals

hi,

i am looking for a handset which performs best at what it is suppose to do, in short i will list out what exactly i am looking at the phone

- usable, good keypad, good build, looks good.

- not really looking for a camera phone or music phone, wanna stay away from touch screens

-should hav good memory, good storage capacity for contacts.

-good keypad feedback, large keys(non qwerty)

-good call audio quality, ring tones should be loud n clear enough, mp3 ringtones

-good software / ui, usable and stable ui, that doesnt hang

cant really categorise it as business or personal phone.

brand is not a constraint.

budget is under 10k.

hope such a phone exist which is good at it the basics, the last i could remember was an e series nokia phone with non qwerty keypad and steel body, with good audio/ringtone, i forgot the model no , i think the phone is not available n not in production anymore

And there's the Nokia 6700 Classic but that lacks Wi-Fi.

First off, AVOID USING SMS LINGO !

So, have you considered the new LG GT505 (13.8K*) ?
Its got the best feature set of the lot.

Next best option would be the Nokia 5800 XM or iPhone.
Post your iPhone related queries here.

Forget the E90, as it isn't quite a multimedia device and has an outdated OS.

For the second phone, Try to get hold of Nokia 6233 if u can. Otherwise Look for Nokia E51 (i think thats the E series one u r talking about.)

and in 7k, no phone beats the VFM of 6303 !!!

I'm assuming the Nokia E51 ? Quite a device it is.

Although not in production, you might still find it in some stores.

SE T715 ~ 9.5K*

SE C510 ~ 9.2K*

Samsung U800 Soul ~ 9.5K*

Nokia 6303 Classic ~ 6.6K*

Oh.. I am sorry. Wont use sms lingo. Well to be very honest i dont really trust LG brand. It has a very poor after sales service. I am thinking of the apple iphone. Do u think I am doing the right thing ?:huh:

Hey, thnx for the suggestion,
i have fanalized on th nokia 6303

On the second criteria of best & loudest call clarity and good speaker

am not very comfortable with the SE and samsung.
I have been using SE phones for over 8 yrs and they all have connector problems. i.e sound gets cut off on 1 earphone, have to shake the charging connector to get it started.
Also my dad uses a SE currently, which frequently gives a message "SIM dislocated"

And about the samsung, seen my friends suffer with the bad build quality.

Any other alternative ?
I can extend my budget to 8-9k if there anything worth it.

Their A.S.S ain't all that bad.

Quality of LG's mid to high end phones are quite good.

Look up the service centres in your city :

LG Electronics Service Online :: Home

Spec wise the GT 505 beats the iPhone but the latter offers a unique experience, with utmost fluidity.

LG KM330 ~ 8.2K* (No EDGE & E-mail support)
Nokia 7510 Supernova ~ 7K* (No EDGE support)

The previous list in addition to the above two are the only viable options meeting your requirements.

I dont know why but something in my mind keeps on telling me not to use a LG phone .. I would rather go for a 5800 than this. What do you say ? Iphone has many drawbacks. 5800 stands the best ..
