I've never put them in water but I think it should be able to withstand water as the chip is completely covered by plastic.

I would say avoid maniacstore. He is not at all reliable. I am telling you based on my personal experience. As i asked him if i can pickup gnex from his location he simply refused and said not interested doing local deal. wtf!
There are better sellers from mumbai on ebay. Dont remember the name. Yash can guide you on this.
