From wiki, i found a newspaper and a tv channel that commented on the film. Nytimes as expected was generally supportive. More interesting was what Fox had to say.
School teachers all welcomed the movie as it helped them connect various fields and stimulate debate in the classroom. And that i think was the objective of the movie, barring a few exaggerations.
This movie struck a nerve with me and laptops. Buy cheap, junk soon compared to buy better stuff that worked for much longer in the past. Who has not heard the stories of ppl holding onto their old fridges because the new ones won't last even a quarter of the time. The list goes on. We've always externalised costs, but quality does seem to be coming down (at least in certain areas)

quality has been seriously been coming down in the recent years....
people's mentality has also been changed from getting a stuff repaired that not working it has changed to throw that and get and new one better than before when the old stuff if repaired is more than enough for their needs
