Woah the game is awesome. Superb Graphics! Done with the prologue part. Escaped the prison and now on Act 1. :D

Killed him off. My this my that blah....Hell off.
and now i know how you got the habit of calling 'sire' sire. ;)

Gameplay, combat system. I started with Skyrim wasnt that impressed, maybe I need to give it more time.

The COMBAT gameplay is markedly different from most RPG's these days. It is fast, complex and on another plane you cannot compare it with Skyrim's archaic hack and slash sword motions. I have not played Kingdom's of Amalur: Reckoning, so will avoid commenting on the same; but tagging @Gannu.

Other gameplay areas again it is a matter of choice, in The Witcher it is much easier to --
  • make potions and construct traps [I personally found it so].
  • easier to use ranged items like -- bombs, daggers / throwing knives [Witchers do not use bows].
  • easier exploration and path-finding.

The GRAPHICS are also beyond the best you will see on Skyrim [again I have not used MODS so you can take this with a pinch(s) of salt].

The storyline is also much more tightly integrated unlike Skyrim, which overtime feels less less interesting [I uninstalled the game after reaching LvL 55]. The story is more mature and choices do matter over-time.

Skyrim does win on the huge scale of its setting and sheer exploration.

The Witcher 2 is one game that is worth being bought [the LEGIT edition].

For more details read through this thread.

Hope to see you soon in the land of Temeria and may your sword stay sharp, Witcher!!

Thanks, you had me in the first line of your response, 'action is fast and complex'. I have already started the download, if I like the game, will definitely purchase it, its available for 1.5k at FK. I dont know Skyrim was kind of weird, people spoke highly of it, and past recommendations were stellar (ME series). Anyways will try out this for sure. Me also likey the bombs and dagger throwing. Thanks a ton!

A further explanation about the Witcher 2 --

The Witcher 2 is a game that is not afraid of punishing you for your mistakes. You make a choice and you are bound for it, till the end of the game. Kill a character and you may not see his / her recurrent role later OR you might completely end up bypassing certain content.

The story is mature not because it allows a lot of cuss words and Earthy banter between the NPC's in-game OR that it has more steamy scenes than a B-grade hack; but because it deals with the themes of -- racism, male chauvinism, terrorism, civil war, regicide, murky politics and extra-judicial killing / torture [to name a few] for what it really is. And in the light of the current world we live in, all this makes a lot of sense; the rulers and the rich are not bothered about the downtrodden, the majority is not phased by the plight of the minority.

War is a mess and everyone gets dirty, more so with the blood of innocents.

The world reacts to you differently for what you are, they know you are Geralt of Rivia; a renowned monster-slayer, the Butcher of Blaviken and they treat you as an adult for the same. The world is not treating you as the mythical messiah of salvation / the chosen one / the cure to the worlds ills. Rather you are in the world because of a reason and you have to find that reason on your own.

Just try to make sure you make the choice, because the stock which was brought in last year was over with a month [OR less if I recall].

May your sword stay sharp, Witcher!!

Jasku Believe me mate i know what i am saying, Witcher 2 is no doubt the best RPG game i've played till date. I don't play much of these RPG titles but i've played and ended the Dragon Age Series,Fallout 2 and 3 and Done with Mass Effect 1.

The combat is by golly impressive. I haven't played TE4 or 5 so dunno about those. Combat system, you know what you can compare it to? atleast what i will is like introducing Assassins Creed or POP fighting style to DAII type game but Graphics are simply great I just can't stop playing it. I was short on money that's why i downloaded the the game and yes the SKIDROW version 14.9GB(gog one). Although now i repent on it and no doubt i'll buy the game when i will be going through the other path which i found out after reading these posts of Ethan and Alpha forcing Gannu to pay the game again. :@

I am crazy about the Assassins Creed series so i really liked the game like very very much. Hell i'm going back just after my post! No doubt alpha bhai is crazy about this game. :P

Buy it without giving a thought. You won't regret it!
Aha exactly I had the same thought when I played the game sire! :P

ya i know although i still have to find the game which says "Cheers" a lot. :P

Yes, thats how an authentic RPG should work (barring ME3 ending :-)) The story sounds like the 'Game of Thrones', getting more and more inquisitive by the minute. So, are all your games legit?

I am on Chapter one now. Is it achieved during the prison escape?

No, actually it is before the escape. You know where Geralt is recounting his side of events to Vernon, you can unlock this ability in one of the sequences. It is a minor one, dont worry that you missed it. If you want to see the actual easter egg for getting this, just hit youtube.

Thanks for the reco dude, its already on its way as we speak, will take another day. Will report back, honestly BF3 has really ruined my single player gaming sessions, every time i boot up my pc after work, Ill be like ok one session and ill do something else, and 2 hours are gone in a jiffy!

No it is in the flash back, when you are telling Roche about how Foltest got assassinated.

When you go down to commandeer the Ballsita, to smash your way into the tower. When you kill the crew guarding it. Do not start with the Quicktime Event, instead go towards the gate [where you will see people fighting] and turn right, there in a bale of hay you will notice a dead assassin figure, go over and Geralt will make a wisecrack --

"I guess, they will never learn" and viola you have gained the ability.

Here is a video explaining the same

P.S.- Also Include the original Deus Ex to my RPGs list.

Hahaha xD

This is one the few games where I died in the Tutorial

The game mocked me and set the difficulty on Easy. Casual gaming my arse, time to pick my sh*t up :whip:

Great new for CDProjekt fans! CDP has announced their next AAA RPG: Cyberpunk! Some details here.
They’re saying stuff like “Advanced RPG mechanics” and “mature content”. Customisable characters, different classes. Lots of weapons. Non-linear. “Cutting edge looking game”. And also “not a game for everybody, for mature audiences.”

It will be based on the table-top RPG Cyberpunk.
