Just got here from Reddit, and as a Gen Z from India, it’s amazing to find people with similar vibes—folks into Proxmox, programming, and hacker culture. It’s like a rare, refreshing corner of the internet that doesn’t feel too polluted (not to sound elitist). It really gives that old-school internet feel, even though I wasn’t around for those days.

I love this place, but I’m still figuring out the ropes—like, can’t seem to DM anyone? Not sure if I’m missing something there. Anyway, sorry if this is a bit all over the place; just wanted to share the excitement. Feels like back in the day when engineers and enthusiasts were here before things turned into a rat race.
Just gonna ramble here for a sec, but I’d love to chat with the mods and the OGs here in real life. This place has such a unique vibe—it kinda reminds me of that post-liberalization era in India? Like, when the economy was booming, NRIs were coming back, and there was this "roaring tiger" energy. It feels like there was so much enthusiasm (idk Swades movie lololol) I don’t know. I’m just young and stupid, but I love it here!

It’s surreal because I know I wasn’t even around back in the time I’m talking about, but somehow, I still feel nostalgic. It’s like this strange sense of longing for an era I never actually experienced. And now, being on the brink of leaving this country, it’s even stranger—like, there’s this vibe, this nostalgia for something that wasn’t mine, pulling me to stay.

Welcome! Yeah, this place is pretty awesome. I mean I thought I was pretty cool then I saw there were like way more smarter people here and I'm just in awe.

The rule threads are very important, most infarctions have a one-strike-and-you're-temp-banned kind of policy and some members think a temp ban is a right of passage, so who knows. Mods are hands-off unless if something is ban-worthy and there's no appeal process so you just gotta wait it out.

PM privileges show up after you level up your post count. Again, there's a few rules threads to read up somewhere here.

Showing off your setup or what you've done/made in the past is a great way to get started in getting to know how work done here. Or dive right in and share what you've done with Proxmox! There's a thread somewhere here.

I'm still pretty new here but it's not difficult to bump into members with nearly twenty year old accounts!
