I am not shedding too many tears for Darksiders.

Question is what's happening to their most marketable IP Saints Row?

Pretty sure that Saints Row team will retain their jobs on the same IP.

Edit: got it.

Saints Row and Metro go to Koch Media (Deep Silver) for ~$28 million.
Koch Media picked up both Volition and the Metro franchise in two separate buys. Volition, of course, is the studio behind Saints Row. That means Koch Media will now publish both Saints and Metro with Deep Silver. Deep Silver is the Koch Media owned house responsible for Dead Island.

and if Platinum Games pick up the IP, kiss the franchise goodbye on PC platform. They are console exclusive developers, for now.

Maybe they can amalgamate the experience of the Vigil Team to diversify into the PC platform.

Some news for the beleaguered artistes of Vigil -- Retro Studios hires Naughty Dog, Vigil Games staffers, - GameSpot.com.

Wish them luck and respect for them all.

Company of Heroes 2 and METRO are still showing their release dates as unchanged after sales. Maybe there is a Light at the end of the tunnel.

I doubt they would do that. For now, it looks like they are interested in acquiring just the IP.

I had original envisioned Ubisoft to take over the Darksiders franchise. They have an immensely talented team when it comes to developing games with good storyline. They could have definitely given it a new direction, but instead they chose to go the Southpark way.
