Hello friends,
Its been a long time since I posted on TE. Anyway, i just got my new cellphone, the Samsung F480 nicknamed as Tocco. It's pretty cool and i think is far better than the IPhone [Which in my opinion is jus too much hyped about, I mean come on it doesn't even have Message Forwarding!!]... It has a 5 Mega Pixel Camera wid Face Detection and cool UI, specially the widgets thingy, with touchscreen and all. But as the phone is still new in the market, not many posts are there which discuss about this phone. There are many questions which I have... for example
How to install applications on Tocco and where to find specific applications built for this phone.
Can we add our own personal Widgets?
How to use the video camera in the front of the phone?
etc etc...

So people who own this phone or have any knowledge regarding this phone which could help me and many others who might have problems related to this phone can please post here... We can also discuss tips and tricks for this particular phone :)
 
i know this phone its good and another upgrade version of this phone f490 is also available its with 3.3 inch screen
 
I got to play with this phone yesterday at mobile shop and honestly I was impressed by screen and the phone. I never liked the samsung phones in the past. They always lacked that quality touch. This is exception. Even snaps taken from camera were really good for cam phone.

If only this had wifi. Thats the only dealbreaker.
 
yeah, wifi was one of the reasons why i didnt go for this. another reason was a look at the omnia online..
 
yea wi fi is a big deal breaker but i am really happy wid this :P

though i was so used to my old k750i :(

This can be a gr8 phone for iphone aspirants who think that the ihpone is too overpriced :)

anyway can anyone suggest me how to install applications on this phone?

Windows based phone rite? if so download CAB files copy them into ur Card and install it from there simple or at least it used to be wen i had a Windows based smart phone .

Its not windows-mobile! The biggest drawback of Samsung phones is lack of a proper development/support community!
 
yea not a windows based mobile...

it was so easy to install applications on my k750i :|

anyway, [I should get over my k750i lol]

tocco is a java based phone.. and i guess any jar files should run on it?

i went thru many sites and i found one where a guy posted on how to install games on samsung U700..

but its tooo long!! do we have to follow this on all samsung phones or what? :(

as this phone is quite new.. not many tips or tricks are there on the net :|
