Also on the sidenote have noticed a lot of 9800 pro conking off on TA and here especially Club 3d. Hopefully the heavy heatsink on my MSI 9800 pro can take the sustained high temps..

Thats something I've noticed too, and i've personally seen 2 9800Pro's conk out as well. Is the heat of the 9800Pro just too much for it to sustain indian conditions?
 
does conk mean to be permanantly damaged beyond repair.

In that case I would need to courrier it to us should cost about 1500 from india to us and then maybe a few grands should bring it back.

What is the chance of them giving a btter card in return?

Hopefully mine works, and I think the default cooling is not good enough for Indian conditions.

which cooling shud i buy,i can't afford 8k for it,
something good at stock speeds within 1000
