They are poles apart.Mephistopheles said:Does anybody here have the Fischer Audio DBA-02, Audio-Technica ATH-CK10 and Radius DDM? Would love to read a thorough comparison between the three.
Go for the AT CK10......i've heard the Westone 3 and i can bet you will love the CK10 too compared to the Westone 3 in different waysdr.sankhadeep said:audio gurus please tell me what should i buy .... lord ganesha is pleased with me....so suggest a iem max 400$ .. i want to add a another iem in my basket with different sound signature than westone 3...
Thanks for the comparison. I reckon DDM will suit me more but the only things that are making me think about it is the build quality, fit and isolation. What Im looking for is M3-like bass, presentation (Most important thing to me) and RE0 like detailing.esanthosh said:They are poles apart.
CK10 and DBA-02 are said to be similar. CK10 has better build quality, more precise imaging, less bass quantity, better dynamic range, but also a harsh spike at 10Khz.
DBA-02 can be considered a (much) better RE0 / RE-ZERO. It's amazingly fast with notes decaying so quickly. But bass (except for Electronica etc.,) sounds very natural, mids are good, treble is very sparkling. There's an element of clarity running through out the spectrum. The sound stage is normal width wise, but deeper than that of RE0. The imaging is pretty good, the placement again (especially front to back) and separation are excellent as well. I imagined that after getting used to the euphonic, rich and musical IEMs, I'd begin to dislike it. But somehow, I still like it even though it sounds "thin" (but not dry as RE0).
DDM is the polar opposite. Hearty, very well textured low end, forward and rich mids, slightly recessed treble, wider sound stage (among the widest I have heard barring RE1)... but a presentation that is blended. You'll have to make it fit in your ears and get around the blended and unique presentation. The details are not absent, but presented in a different manner.
I like FX-700 better than DDM. But DDM at half the price of FX-700 is still VFM. Wonder what DDM2 would add. If it adds a bit more treble without adding too much to the cost, it should be worth.
I would second all of mukulymn's recos.Mephistopheles said:Thanks for the comparison. Slightly OT, but i bought the Maverick D1 yesterday, and the TF10's sound horribly bad. It sounds dark and muddy. Surprising the Sr225i and D5000 sound better since they're amped. Although the warm nature of the dac of the maverick goes well with the Sr225i, it brings out a laid back nature of the D5000.
I think the DAC matters a lot and the Maverick D1(if anyone has used it) is not right for iems..
