^ I just updated my post with it.

Read more about SM3, especially towards the end of the appreciation thread. It's a very good IEM, but could also sound veiled.
 
With the 15% coupon on, why not some one start a go for SM3? I am in for it. I guess there are atleast 3-4 folks who want to buy these...
 
Will the GO cost less than $379-15% ....

:doh: Now i am really skeptical about ordering the SM3.
I totally forgot about the Review so i re read the appreciation thread in bits and pieces. It seems that the Build quality is worse than the cheap $20 chinese IEMS, not to mention the cable faults and the unbalanced driver problems.
FFS if its for $379 they should have better production values and quality control! ..
so any other recommendation ?

Yes! That's what I've been saying. Since the honeymoon period of FOTM was over, I could see many complaints about SM3. Then, there's even a case of this - Earsonics SM3 fall apart - Head-Fi.org Community, though you could find such a thread for many high priced IEMs.

That $380 price is on account of French taxes, I guess ;)

If its not that then i am kinda limited on my options the right? Where is fx700 available though? Japan only as of now is it?

If you don't mind spending a bit less, you can also try Phonak PFE. I have taken it out of the dark corner of the closet only now and I am beginning to wonder "Why the hell did I buy all the other IEMs?". Don't worry! That feeling usually subsides when I try a DBA-02 or DDM :P

I think the best way for FX700 is Head-fi used forums, if you are Ok with it. Or else, Japan.
 
seyo shop sells Fx700 at 339 + 9 for shipping to asia ( i donot know whether it includes insurance or not ), almost all at Head-fi buy it from there.
 
customs are very unpredictable , they can charge you $10 for a $5 product ..and leave it on a $300 product.

your best bet is to ask seyo shop to write repaired product" on the parcel so that customs do not charge anything ...

then also they ,might charge you ...then simple obey and pay up , nothing can be done thats fate.

^ True that! I got a headphone sometime back declared as Gift, no bills inside, even a "Happy Birthday" card inside... and I still got charged :(

Read the Review of the Seyo Shop at AnythingbutIpod, there is no concrete Information about it other than the Overchargin bit, not really confortable ordering it from there since i want to avoid the whole dealing with Customs thing.
Let me search up more on this though. Are there any other options for me apart from Fx700 and SM3 under $350?
Also i am wondering would it usefull/worthwhile to get a Second Hand Amp from US(Head-Fi)
(This is because i was reading the SM3 + Predator Appreciation thread :P)
 
UM3X is a good option. and the westone 3 also, DBA-02 is the best option if you ask me. (why are you not interested in DBA ...i mean the world has gone crazy searching for it and here in india its available and yet not selling that much!!)

the e-Q7 is also very transparent and great. (perfect example for 1driver vs 3driver war)

Grado GR10 is new but still, a successor to GR8!!

No problem in buying an amp form head fi just ensure to have it insured and check the feedback of the person beforehand.
